Countries you'd never travel to

No need to bring up small and obscure foreign lands, try to stick more to more well-known countries.

India: Looks nice, but too hot and too crowded for me.
Israel: I already boycott products from Israel so...
Mexico: Looks too corrupt and dangerous, save from a few isolated tourist spots.

Geez Iraq isn't all that bad. Take away the random bombings, beheadings, and all that "death to the infidels" talk it's a might nice place.

I mean I've been here for about 6 months and I've only been shot at like 3 times. Hell, you can take more shots than that on an average weekend on the LA freeway.

-PS Afghanstan.

Definitely not me...I've been to Jamaica. It's a fucking beautiful country

As for places I'd never visit, any Middle Eastern countries that practise corporal punishment. I have a mate whose Dad works in Saudi Arabia. He's told me things about that country that terrified me!

If it's Communist, I won't go. This includes my home country of Cuba.

Only exception: China
Why do you choose China as an exception to your rule?

This thread.... has the potential for some nationalistic flamewars. Anyways, I say things can change (you know, never say never). I wouldn't mind going to NK some day, but the most I could probably do right now is stand in the part of the negotiation room that is technically North Korean.

I would travel anywhere I had the chance to go.

Agreed. Every country has something interesting I would love to see. If i had unlimited resources and time I would touch ground on everyone country on the planet. Id love to travel, I just cant find the resources to be able to do it. :(

Middle East and several countries/areas in Africa. Otherwise I'm game for almost anywhere as long as I don't have to pay for it myself. If it's coming out of my own pocket, the list would get a lot longer.

the USA! Its too far and you are all fat rednecks who all carry guns and the fbi will take a dna sample when I land in the country

There's a handful of middle-eastern and African countries I really have no interest in, but I don't think I could say I'll NEVER travel to any of them. The reasons I wouldn't want to go to a country are mostly political and that shit changes all the time.

Mexico and Cuba are amazing places and I've been to both. I'd give Mexico City a miss as that is where all the corruption and crime comes from. Havana in Cuba is regarded as one of the safest cities in the world. The extreme socialism is a little concerning but the warmth of the people is wonderful.

North Korea is on my miss list until the government is changed. There are places such as Columbia and areas within Africa that I would not want to travel.

After seeing Bride and Predjudice I'd really like to see India.

Yeah, seiously. Go to Dubai and you're whole outlook on the middle east changes. I love that place, totally moving there after I'm done with schooling.

A Shining Example
I live in the US. I have visited or would visit...

Canada, Mexico (some parts), Greece, Britain, Spain, Italy, Germany, Japan, Australia, Bahamas.

I would not like to visit any country not listed above including France (I've heard too many bad things about it from the three separate groups of friends that I have who have been there).

And Dubai was on the Amazing Race 6 and it looked like a third world country IMO. They must have shown every other part of Dubai that isn't in that picture. They also hate Americans there and many tourists have been kidnapped over the years while in Dubai.

Because its unlike pretty much anywhere else in the middle east. Its like going to Las Vegas and having that be your only vision of America.

I'd never go to most of the countries just south of the Sahara. Also a lot of the small ex-USSR countries in East Europe. I have no interest in them.

That's true, I'll only add Tijuana and Juárez as the mexican cities you should think twice before visit. Hell, you should think twice before visit any border town, I know I do and I live in Mexico.

Personally I have been in Mexico City a lot of times and it's not that bad in some parts, it has the same problems than any big city in the world, and this one is fucking big.

Oh and Instigator, I hope you don't use any pentium processors, AIM, or ICQ, since they were all invented in Israel.

Yup, that sucks for her, I don't believe she was dumb enough to put 4.1 kgs of stinky marijuana in an unlocked checked bodyboard bag. She's dodged the death penalty but faces life imprisonment for WEED. That went on in BALI by the way. Now those other 9 aussies that tried to smuggle drugs there, they were stupid and are going to get rightfully owned by a scary ass legal system that will kill you for taking drugs there.

LOCK your fucking bags when you travel. If you are going to a country where they kill you for drugs, padlock the shit out of your bags.

You mean it USED to be it's own country. However, it is now a state in the union.
It was its own country for, what, a few years?

Yep, it was it's own country for about 10 years or so. Thus, catfish saying he wouldn't want to travel to Texas in this day and time seemed like a pretty fucking stupid joke.

I don't have to want to go to texas dude. From here, it looks like a shit dump full of intolerant retards. If you don't like my opinion of it, you should elect a better representative for it.

Musashi Wins!

FLAWLESS VICTOLY!
I think Texas is actually a valid choice for avoidance.

All things being equal, I'd hate to invalidate any part of the world for a potential visit. But in the interest of not getting my head sawed off on videotape or having the freedom for my selfish desires run rampant in a day to day fashion, I'll probably avoid the 3rd World for the forseeable future.
