So she was working for him?
Man this is so fucked up
So she was working for him?
The man is a registered sex offender.
If she said "wow, he never showed that side of himself to me, but knowing about his past it makes sense", that would be a sensible thing to say.
"I'm really hoping that there's a mistake or something," she said. "It doesn't sound like him." is not a reasonable thing to say when someone who is a registered sex offender is being accused of having a woman tied up in his basement.
such terrible news.
Glad the woman is still alive and hoping she can get the help she needs to recover from this.
Man the interview with the Sheriff. This guy looks shook up.
He really does. Small-town Sheriff, so I'm not surprised.
The article said they met online so my mind went straight to some tinder hookup. How is it known that he was their real estate agent other than the fact that he has a real estate company and they recently moved in together?
Still, sad and sickening all the same.
Wait a second, it doesn't say they met online anymore. Or did I just make that up? I swear I read it there and it was update 20 minutes ago. Never mind me...

Yeah, there was something about meeting online and being casual friends of the couple.
Shit's twisted man wtf. How can people do this and not feel guilt or remorse? I feel horrible when I make someone mad. But this shit, omg.
We really need to shrink the Sex Offender Registry down. Flooding it with sexting teens and mooning knuckleheads has taken a lot of attention off of violent offenders like the culprit here.
Rapists and kidnappers should absolutely have their property combed over on a bi-annual basis at the minimum, but the resources won't be there if we piss away time focusing on nonviolent offenders that don't belong on the list in the first place.
Reading through this guy's Facebook feed is truly chilling.
Some people are so full of bullshit. His facebook is still open and some of the posts seem suspect. Especially the first one:
I couldn't agree more. Because of how frivolous the reasons to register are, it is not taken seriously. This needs to be pushed for change. No one who just moons someone should be on there. The ones on there should actually have committed sex crimes and be subject to searches for life.We really need to shrink the Sex Offender Registry down. Guess they probably should have got on that Facebook warrant earlier, huh? But all that paperwork...
I wouldn't be shocked if she knew he was a weird creep, and might have been the one to call in the tip, but doesn't want to admit it publicly for fear of the backlash. She hired a sex offender for a position that interacts with people in their homes, driving people places, etc. I think she knows she's fucked if it comes out she was anything less than naive and stupid.I don't think I will ever be numb to how fucking moronic and self delusional people can be sometimes.
