Looks like "wall guy" has some competition :lol

All hail ROOF GUY!

Firstly I know this is the same game as the one listed in Famitsu recently but is this the same as APB (Webzen) or is that another game entirely? Too many ex-GTA developers around :P

I don't know whether I like the stylised look or not because in some pics it looks great and in other pics it looks....well awful really. I did read some snippets from the Game Informer article though and the gameplay sounds like it will be fun, especially the co-op. I also read somewhere that the environments were destructable but I may have got that detail wrong... Can anybody with the magazine confirm/deny?

Roofguy, come on. It's definitely leotardguy!

=(

The abilities appeal to me, as well as the potential scale of action but so far this looks likea train wreak. Hopefully this will make the typical 360 upgrade in visuals before its 200x release date.

I was going to say something negative about the weak visuals until I saw this pic:

Any game where you can throw cars at people is alright in my book.

There's a guy squating in the crowd there, on the sidewalk. What's with all the fuckin squating?

SQUAT GUY?????????

No, this is different from APB.

Anyway, yeah some of the buildings have to be destructable since the magazine made mention that you can drive a car off a roof, exit it, shoot the gas tank in mid air and blow a hole into a building, thus giving you entrance to a mission or something.

Read the 10 page Game Informer preview before dissing this game. Yeah the game looks only OK but then the scope of this game dwarfs what has been possible in GTA. Next gen GTA is dead. Long live the new king Crackdown!!!
Err...so every next gen GTA clone needs to have a scifi setting in order to relax the perception of realism in order to expand scope beyond what Crackdown offers?

Crackdown isn't a GTA clone. Saints Row is. This game is the next true evolution of GTA.

hahahahahaah

MrBob is on a FIRE today

GTA with superheroes isn't the next "true" evolution of GTA. Next-gen GTA is the next true evolution of GTA. This is an interesting alternative to the typical GTA formula, which is cool. It's actually the "evolution" of the HULK formula ;)

I know we're not quite there yet, but won't it be nice to throw a car with the detail of PGR3 across the street?

Boy, I don't want to think of the type of assets it would require to create a game like that. Every car at PGR3 detail level, with the scope GTA:SA game?

Crazy.

Dude this is Awesome.. Awesome to the max

totally radical

seroiusly though long as they clean it up the idea of heaving cars at people while paperboy style breakdancers put their pants on on the sidewalk is semi-appealing

I think Riddick for Xbox looks just as good or better than this in all honesty.

I think we should wait for the vids before making such ridiculous statements. I think this game will have impressive physics, just imagine throwing that car at the crowd :O

Which still begs the question - the "evolution of GTA" requires a scifi setting? Because that's where much of the "scope of this game dwarfs what has been possible in GTA" comes from.

And, to be clear, I've got nothing against this game. Just want to see how well you've thought out this skewed perspective on things :P

This pic is like an action game interpretation of bishoptl traipsing thru a thread ready ta banstick sum upstart muthasuckaz!

aka: a black guy finally taking it to the wiggers.

I wasn't aware that Riddick for Xbox was a free-roaming GTA variant that didn't take place almost entirely in corridors.

May I borrow your copy that is?

The evolution of GTA should involve malleable terrain.

What the hell.

This is one of the most bizarre screenshots I've seen in a long time.
What's wrong with it? Are you telling me that you're not thrilled with the prospect of a game that lets you stand on a rooftop and look across the street at other people, also standing on rooftops?

Overall, I don't like how it looks in these shots...hopefully, it looks more persuasive in motion. Some of the detail and art is really an evolved version of GTA, IMO...it looks like black & white photocopies of photographs of random real people, then recolored with pencil. Interesting look for the character detail, but doesn't come across strong enough to me as appealing.

This thread is hilarious. The publisher/developers must have been really drunk when they decided to release these. It's almost impossible to pick screens as bizarre as these ones. Kudos to them for this post-modern masterpiece.

Basically all you need to know is that you have super powers. And you can carry a car up to a roof. And then you can drive the car off a roof. And then you can jump out of the car as it plummets to the ground. And then you can take out a gun in midair and shoot the car as it falls toward the floor. And then the car will explode, taking out part of the building its falling next to.

If this is true then I can deal with its "charismatic" graphics.

while i dont think it looks THAT bad, these photoshop pics are a laugh riot :lol

I don't know what to think of this game, graphically. it doesn't look bad, nor does it look good, or in between, it's just...bizarre. I like the gameplay concepts though; it's one to watch anyway...
