Crimson desert New York 13 minutes gameplay

I like the vibrancy of the world. Reminds me of Witcher 3.
Nice details like the foliage and trees blowing.
That vista at the start when the camera turns around was beautiful.
Some good voice acting.

LOD is a bit wonky with the foliage.
Combat seems like it either flows well or is clunky when there are lots of enemies.
I think there are too many particle effects for too many attacks.
 
what happened to the nice animations from that video demo we saw few months ago ? it was a movie like ( or was that a different game ) ? all I am seeing here is flashy shit from final fantasy
 
They need to ease up on the particles during fighting, half the time the whole picture gets drowned in magic/sand+mud/clashing steel particles to the detriment of visibility.

Yeah i like the game from what i've seen so far, although the powers seem very powerful in fight's, like Odyssey and Valhalla on steroids, but i like the game world, reminds me of The Witcher 3 as well, interested to see more.
 
Things which need more work imo:
  • Get rid of the particle effects,. It looks like every time a movement is made, fireworks got lit up. Never seen something more distracting than this, literally can't even see what the characters are doing.
  • Fix the wonky camera. Often the camera would cut off the main character's legs. Instead of keeping the camera centered, it moves all over the place. This makes it very difficult to judge what actions the character is performing as well as what actions the player needs to input next.
  • Fix the UI, the mini map isn't so mini, it's a giant blob with very little essential information.
  • Fix the lighting and art direction. At times it seems like there are little to no shadows, while other times it's dark as fuck. Like what the hell is going on with the lighting??

Not necessarily something they need to fix, but it seems like the game has many activities. If exploring the open world means you need to do these activities 10s of times, then fuck no. If these activities are just there to break up the pacing and you just need to these activities 3 to 5 times then it's all good.
 
The parallax bump/displacement on absolutley every surface is a little heavy handed. the rocks look furry.

I hope it's good, the story and setpieces will carry a game like this.
 
I hope this game can give gta6 a fight for GOTY next year.

The fighting and traversal mechanics already looks better than any GTA games

Agreed, this has been my take since their first reveal videos.

Give me an option to reduce that mess, looks like a wedding where they throw rice all over the place.

Everything else looks good though.
 
Style wise it also seems to have a identity crisis in my opinion, during the walk+talk sections it wants to be witcher 3 and as soon as the fighting starts it could aswell be an anime game like genshin with all the flashy animations and effects, even geralts spin me round right round mooves were not that out of place like whats presented here.
