Cyberpunk 2077 delay to September 17

There is no way Cyberpunk 2077 is going to have a proper release on PS5 / XSX for at least a year after release on PS4 / XB1.

If I was running the company I would want people double dip to maximise. This game is doing the GTA5 strategy believe me.

I'm suprised GTA6 hasn't done this again.

This is all getting really fishy.

I do believe in polish things up, but if this all just a pretest to go along with some kind of plan, then don't count on me.

Was going to delay buying it till I got a PS5 anyway... we have lots to play this year anyway. Shouldn't frustrate anyone too much.

rofl .... come on people ...finish your current gen backlog that you want to play before the next gen consoles arrive.

At this point, I will just get the PS5/Sex Enhanced Ed.

So people in here are gonna wait months or maybe a year (or more) for the nextgen version (so basically the pc version)??

Thank god its delayed. Spring has too many games anyway. FF7 Remake would slaughter this game anyways. I played FF7 Remake, masterful, saw Cyberpunk 2077 played on a big screen behind the scenes, horrible gunplay. Will it be a good game? Sure. But it's way overhyped.

Definitely not playing til the next gen patch/version now.

Blessing in disguise IMO. Was probably gonna look a little crap on current gen without RT.

Honestly, this is true. I have Cyberpunk pre-ordered, and don't want to shit up this thread.

But yeah, the game looks rough. People should keep expectations low. It looks like a janky MMO at times. I'm just hoping the story is good. Not optimistic for gameplay at all.

Not entirely surprised, delays are pretty common these days and it being so close to next gen launching. I'm ok with it if it means a more polished game.

It's clear it's coming out on next-gen systems, they want the double dippers and people who will buy launch titles just because they need something to play artificially boosting sales because it'll be one of the best titles for the system at launch, how is anyone in this thread surprised?

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Not really surprising. Witcher 2 was delayed iirc, and Witcher 3 was delayed twice. Gets a bit tiring hearing the same excuses every time though.

How is it tiring? Just play other stuff or take a break from gaming until it releases, simple.

They don't owe us anything.

Marketing, marketing, marketing.

When will people stop being surprised by video game delays?

Especially after Naughty Dog was like "hey remember how we just announced a release date two weeks ago? We swear we didn't know this until now, but actually we need more time to finish the game!"

Don't buy into the PR.

At this point I'll just wait for PS5 version. Almost guaranteed. I was a bit worried about playing it on current gen base console as it was, performance will be janky for sure.

No one should be surprised by this. Writing was on the wall, and this pushes it closer to a "cross-gen" title I feel.
