I am proud to announce that since its release The Witcher 3 has sold over 60 million copies, securing a place among the bestselling video games in all history, and motivating us to carry on with intensive work on the next trilogy set in this universe – summarizes Adam Badowski, Joint CEO of CD PROJEKT

Very good numbers for Phantom Liberty. As for The Witcher 3, god dayum!

Also, great legs in general for Cyberpunk 2077. It keeps selling steadily year over year, and with the Switch 2 release imminent, it should bring in some nice $$$ for CDPR in Q2.

Phantom Liberty is well deserved! Highly recommended and I hope the crew that designed it are in charge of the sequel

Phantom Liberty saved Cyberpunk. It's great. Tried Witcher 3 because everyone said how great it is. Dropped it after like 8 hours or so.

Hopefully they will work on improving The Witcher's combat, because it's a serious weak point in my opinion.

They should have done another CP2077 expansion. Phantom Liberty was amazing. If they released one every 2.5 years I would buy it and play it day one no questions asked.

The fighting was never good in witcher.
It just sucked less in 3 compared to the old games.

Also some pacing issues in 3 ruins it for a lot of people.. (first time big city)

i would love to have the time for another playthrough of that game, i never quite finished Blood & Wine as the Vampire boss was simply too hard for me to beat but the rest of the game was sublime, easily top 10 best games of all time

I don't think it will be very profitable. If I remember correctly, they barely broke even on The Witcher 3 port for the Switch. Part of the reason was their choice to use more expensive, higher-capacity game card, which they've done again with Cyberpunk 2077 on Switch 2.
It really will depend on the ratio of digital to physical sales, but I think most people are opting for physical copies since the entire game is included on the card.

They are doing switch ports mostly to increase brand recognisability and build future player base.

How? Not an extraction shooter. No multiplayer. No MTX. The character isn't ugly. Pure single-player games. No battle passes, no cosmetics costing a fortune. Turns out, people like good stories and deep worlds. Who knew?

That's a fair assessment. With the push towards digital, I believe that the digital ratio for Cyberpunk on NSW2 should be higher than it was for The Witcher 3 on Switch. On the other hand, the cost of goods for the physical release of Cyberpunk would also be higher since the 64GB NSW2 cart is more expensive to manufacture today than the 32GB Switch cart CDPR used for TW3 when it was released. Anyways, we'll see in their next earnings call how it goes.

Where did you read this? I did a little searching and all I could find was a CDPR press release bragging about the "excellent sales" of the Switch version. I know that could just be standard PR spin, but I can't find any indication that they "barely broke even," and, in fact, the decision to port Cyberpunk to the Switch 2 and once again release it on an expensive cart, when a cheaper option is readily available, is pretty strong evidence that porting The Witcher 3 was profitable for them.
