Cyborg Cameo Written Out of ‘The Flash'; Role Played by Ray Fisher Won’t Be Recast

“Justice League” actor Ray Fisher, who was offered a cameo role last June to appear as Cyborg in “The Flash” solo movie, publicly stated he did not want to be involved with the project via Twitter, hence the character of Cyborg has been written out of the screenplay and will not be recast, according to insiders with knowledge of the situation.

Fisher, in his only film role, first appeared as Cyborg in 2017’s “Justice League.” His final appearance as Cyborg will be in the “Justice League” Snyder Cut, which will premiere this spring on HBO Max.

LMAO.

I'm coming up with a new comic book character. He's a cyborg. What should i name him..?

CYBORG
He came out like 40 years ago, I’d imagine the name had more novelty then

the term has been played out since

But seriously, what is it with Hollywood and not giving other black men a chance? First Chadwick and now this guy, they shouldn't be locking down roles from others.
What the fuck are you talking about?

The quote in the OP literally says "he did not want to be involved with the project".

Some would say comparing a black person to a paper bag has racist tones from the "brown paper bag" color test.

Relax, it was a joke.

So wait, there's not going to be a robot singing "Word Up" in "The Flash"? (Yes, I know terrible joke.)

Ray Fishers is all amygdala and no pre-frontal cortex. His inability to control his emotions has cost him his career before it even launched off the ground. What a fool.

While I dont give a crap about cyborg it does suck to see an original black superhero given the boot. I guess they'll just make the female plastic man black to make up for it.

That's ok. But Ezra's still in, right?!

Really curious, did you like him? I personally thought the CW Flash was better than him. Ezra was just annoying to me and trying hard to be Peter Parker without the charm.
The fan-beating video didn't really sway my opinion in his favour too.

To be honest, I just really like him because of his performance in "We need to talk about Kevin". Brilliant movie. And I found that video kind of funny.

I thought killing Black Panther because of the actor was a bad move, after just 1 movie and 3 cameos. Not recasting Cyborg is dumb, plain and simple.

“I did not publicly step down from anything.”

also Ray fisher a few days ago:

”I will not participate in any production associated with him.”

uh... this dude is killing is own career before it even takes off.

Well his only career path now is by writing a book called “How to get noticed and land a major role in a Hollywood film franchise and fuck it all up in 3 easy steps”

Not replacing Chadwick makes sense.
He played a really popular character in several really popular movies. Having some other actor play the character with everyone pretending like nothing happened (or even if they give some shitty explanation like "he had an accident") would just be weird.

This dude though, was basically a secondary character in a single shitty movie, there still isn't some strong attachment between him and the character so they could just recast him and I doubt the average viewer would care.

it's strictly because of PR so he doesn't cry that his role was stolen because he's fighting against RAY-CISM.

Optics man, optics.

Q: Can't they re-cast another black actor?
A: He will simply be labeled as an Uncle Tom/Coon for accepting RAY-CISM.

Well, i mean, they recast war machine and no one cried.

No one is gonna care about Boseman's acting legacy with Black Panther, come on. He's like the least interesting character and the most bland actor in it.

That was pay dispute.

This involved accusations of second hand RAY-CISM.

Lots of people care. He originated the movie character (he pushed for authentic African accents and using actual languages instead of making up an african dialect) and was an amazing actor.
