Now what's the next step in your master plan?
No major story details then? Well I'm excited none-the-less. I'm sure the fact that Bob is a stay at home Dad won't sit well with some.

Interesting and very cool to put the focus on Elastigirl. I wasn't jammin with the idea that this only takes place a short while after the first movie, but I think it may have been the right move.

Happy to see Elastigirl be the main focus this time. I can see a franchise revolving around the different family members, finally settling on a grown Jack Jack.

I think I would have preferred Violet over Elastigirl. I feel like the story for the parents was wrapped up in the first movie.

Hmm. Dunno how I feel about it being set RIGHT after the first movie. Gonna be weird seeing characters not age with us, and I was hoping they'd tackle some superhero themes dealing with coping with becoming a senior citizen. Ah well, I have faith they'll pull off something great!

Incredibles 3!

I wouldn't get too excited about the updated character models, from what Brad said (like driving a new car) it sounds like "updated" related to back-end stuff, maybe their rigging is way more complex now so they can do more stuff with them. If the movie picks up literally one minute after the last one I can't imagine they're going to look very different aside from maybe better hair and skin tech.

That's a good point. This seems a bit of a wasted opportunity.

Any word on why it's a new actor for Dash? Was the original a kid?

I always figured the movie would take place about 2-4 years later, just so everyone had matured a tiny bit, we got the kids in new life stages, and we got to see how the family developed with the lessons of the first film. Being immediately after the original is a surprise.

However, no matter what they announced and what they announce in the future, The Incredibles is a favorite of mine and nothing will keep me away from that movie theater when it releases.

I wouldn't say crap but each year the movie looks worse. The designs are phenomenal but the technology of the time is holding it back from being a timeless classic visually.

It was never going to be a "timeless classic visually" because of what it is and when it was made.

Timeless as a positive descriptor of anything but the story itself tends to not really apply after anything more than 15-20 years.

At some point its dated look either becomes part of the charm, or something you note in the context of when it was made, and move along.

The idea that the Incredibles looks like shit is crazy to me. Yes, it looks like almost 20 year computer animation. But it was still pretty good computer animation, and it certainly doesn't detract from the storytelling at all.

the character models and animations are great, but the backgrounds god damn they have aged so fucking terribly,

what is older a bugs life o the incredibles? because a bugs life still looks awesome

Bugs life by about 6 years. But Bugs looks better because bug textures age better than human skin.

Cool can't wait, though it will be interesting watching his as an adult living in a world of the MCU.

The Jack Jack bit is stupid considering what happened at the end of the first movie.

Not really, remember Syndrome was high up in the sky with Jack-Jack while the family were on the ground panicking so they didn't see his power activating.

I really want to see what Pixar could achieve with re-rendering one of their old films. A headache I'm sure, but I'd be curious to see the results of new lighting and shading without necessarily changing too many assets. They could leave the animation and just add extra props for example.

Yay more Elastigirl! Great character and Holly Hunter is excellent. That design woke some shit in me when I was young though.

I thought this was what they were gonna do with Toy Story and Toy Story 2 when they rerendered them for 3D but alas ):

I still love the originals but the GULF in visuals between 1/2 and 3 is so massive, goddamn.

Definitely. I feel like CG stuff since Tangled has held up really well though.

Weird that Bob is a stay at home dad; he always struck me has having a ‘breadwinner' mindset. But I guess he took the lesson he learned in the first movie to heart.

Elastigirl is the focus this time though, so I can't complain.
