It's pretty funny that people will still talk about how much safer the "WWE style" is and, whenever someone gets signed, how great it is they no longer have to "kill themselves" on the indies for a pittance. Shit like this is going to keep happening unless there's a fundamental change in the way the WWE operates - between the insane travel schedules talent have to keep to get from show to show and the lack of much-needed recuperation time, injuries will continue to pile up. Especially with guys who have been on the road for as long as Bryan has. Then there's the in-ring mentality, where one of the best technical wrestlers in the world is presented as 'the flying goat' and has to resort to a combo of highspots to get himself over, all because WWE are incapable of breaking out of their formula for top-level faces. Bret got over as the Excellence of Execution and while, sure, times have changed a lot since then, there's little reason to my mind why a similar approach couldn't have worked for Bryan. One where he doesn't have to hit suicide dives and missile dropkicks that see him landing on his neck and shoulders in every single match.
