In Spielberg we trust.
He made Schindler's List, so he is pretty good at doing historical films.
Amistad

Honestly. This better be the good John Williams, and not the sappy hotel lobby one.
I wanna slap your right across the face. Especially for badmouthing kaminskis excellent work in Minority Report.Because this is now a Spielberg thread, I just want to say that I think Minority Report kind of sucks. I say 'kind of' because at times it's really good. But for the most part, it takes a very interesting story and makes it look terribly dull. Some of the decisions in lighting, composition, and shooting are just poor.

It was a poor imitation of Roger Pratt's work.
Here is article about Lincoln's voice,

According to him this performance has been the most accurate so far.

Meh, just sounds like Sam Waterson to me. Might just be a case of "closest we've had" rather than actually accurate.
Shameless plug: My father has written a couple of books featuring Lincoln as a character. This is one: Abraham Lincoln, Detective
There is no recorded sample of Lincoln's voice.
From what we know, he had a very high pitch.
Well, well. Look what I found here:

What a tease. Is that DDL's voice? Insane.
it's pretty obvious that it's the black guy who's doing the talking.
What the hell is wrong with you people? You can see the dude saying the line in the trailer. Am I going insane? Are you? We haven't heard DDL yet. Bunch of crazies.

I don't get it though. I wonder how Spielberg handled the vampire parts because it might seem different in tone with the rest of the movie.
I'm canadian. How am I supposed to know. The joke that just keeps on falling flat.

I'm sure you're all very well versed in Canadian history. I bet you don't even know who John A. MacDonald is, or why he became a wearwolf hunter. This why Canada is going nowhere.
The soldier's recitation of the speech is much more evident when viewed in 1080p, but people are probably questioning it because the scene makes no sense. I have never seen anyone just walk away like that in the middle of an important speech. I can only imagine that the trailer was badly cut or presents the scene in a completely different context than the one it will eventually appear.Fuckin' this. They show the guy talking. It's not like it's cut in a way that leaves it ambiguous. The soldier is clearly reciting the dialogue to Lincoln and then walking away as he continues. His voice even trails slightly as he walks away. I assume that everybody is very very drunk.
Is that the score? It sounds very familiar.
Shindlers list is 19 years old. War horse came out last winter. Which one is a better example of Steven Spielberg in 2012?No. No, Amistad and War Horse do not work as arguments invalidating Schindler's List. Stop that shit.

Also didn't Spielberg make War of the Worlds on his lunch break or something. I remember reading that.
The years when Spielberg cranks out both a blockbuster and a ponderous drama are the best.
Schindler/Jurassic Park & Munich/War of the Worlds were all great.

War Horse/Tintin
War Horse/Tintin
Super 8 felt more like a Spielberg movie then Tintin. Didn't see that coming!
It sounds to me like he's saying it with the grandiosity befitting an important speech, which is why, of course, it's in the trailer at all. It's supposed to communicate big emotions. So it's jarring when he turns and walks away, because it's not at all consistent with the actual voiceover. The fact that this is even a debate means that the trailer isn't put together very well. It's not an important speech. It's just some guy repeating the words from an important speech. It's not made clear whether he's saying them in a positive or negative light. Since he's a black union soldier, I could see him as either repeating the speech to Lincoln as just a way of saying he admired it so much that he memorized it, or maybe mocking it, like "The speech is nice, but the things you say in it are never going to happen." It doesn't not make sense, it's just vague.
