...Just finished watching this film. Wow. If you appreciate subtle Asian filmmaking, this is probably one of the finest. The main character, played by a young kid, won the Best Actor award at Cannes. He isn't even a professional actor (according to IMDB).

But...a heartbreaking, sad story told in beautiful sequences...which is ironic and unsettling in a way. Definitely check this film out. Anybody else seen it? Thoughts?

I was just going to make a topic about this movie.

I saw it tonight. I was afraid of it being too slow... I saw his other movie (Kora-eda) Maborosi and it was absolutely boring.

Well it was slow but I didn't mind it at all. I thought it was very well done and although I didn't like the ending all that much (it seemed a little abrupt), I really don't know how else they could have ended it.

Great movie, very natural acting.
