I haven’t watched the full press interview yet, but in that clip, he did seem more muted and subdued than usual. When asked whether he received any briefings from Intelligence, he quickly responded with a firm “no comment,” which is a notable departure from his usual BS waffle.

The White House’s continued attempts to gaslight everyone by dismissing the situation as a classic case of misidentification are almost comical at this point. I’m with those who think all this unusual activity likely points to some kind of search operation—maybe for a dirty bomb or something along those lines. If it is a test I wonder what they use for nuclear material to play hide and seek. Xray equipment? Smoke detectors? A chunk of uranium with two guys in the back of the van playing hot potato.

You could easily pass it off as a "military exercise" without freaking people out. Helicopters are seen all the time and don't frighten people. They're incredibly capable and can be outfitted with a variety of equipment. There's zero reason a search NEEDS to be performed by a drone.

Take it with a grain of salt of course, but from what i've read the missing nuclear material, while a true story, is basically the equivalent of a dental x ray worth of radiation. As others have mentioned, the drone situation was going on a while before this story even broke. The problem with this (i think) is that any species that has the ability to fare across space and study a habitable planet from up close has likely developped a million years ahead of us. To send down these loud and flashy drones is akin to a heart surgeon here on earth taking sticks and stones into a surgery room.
