I love MoS threads.

I'm at war with a friend who vehemently hates MoS, but hasn't ever seen it, and vows never to, and I like it a lot.

When Zod throws Supes trough several buildings with that OST is incredible, fuvk the people that died there Gods are fighting and is awesome.

Mos, why would I even watch that a second time?

tDKR on the other hand is an example of Nolan and co. missing the boat so badly that I'm awestruck anytime I come across it and found enjoyment and seeing how poorly handled the execution of the plot is. And some of the score keeps me watching again tbh. It's more rousing than the images it's matched with.

Thor 2....who, what, where, when,?

Action movies are dumb fun movies. DBZ fighting has inspired plenty of action movies (Matrix, MoS, etc). DBZ on a whole may not be noteworthy, but the fighting has definite parallels in other dumb fun action movies.

Because not every movie needs to be taken seriously.

funny, I thought Snyder's intent was to make a super serious Superman movie

Not even Loki could redeem Thor 2. It took the incomprehensible story and poor action of both MoS and DKR, and somehow combined them into something even more middling-to-bad. In particular, the writing is unforgivably awful and I can't stand it.

Thor 2 unleashed Ragnarok. It cannot be beat.

Man of Steel is runner-up, because that movie doesn't deserve to win anything.

I've been told by Valnen that I have mental problems. I feel like I should be earning an official GAF achievement on that score.

If only I had your reputation old bean.

People care about me enough that I have a reputation? Interesting.

It's not healthy to hate people for liking things you don't like. Especially dumb comic book movies, lol. They're fun to watch and that's all that really matters to some people.

I mostly agree with this, but Mjolnir flying through portals to smack fools was pretty entertaining.

Thor 2 is pure ass with nothing of worth. MoS at the very least has awesome action scenes. Thor 2 has jack-all, and worse, Kat Dennings dressed up in several layers of clothing.

I didn't watch Snyder's intent. I watched his film as a finished product separated from the creator to stand on its own. It had a more airtight plot than DKR and provided more entertaining and power-fantasy fights than DKR as well.

And those that try to convince you that either is worthy of consumption should be treated with utter fucking contempt.
Like watching DBZ.

Imagine publicly degrading yourself to that level.

how convenient

I agree if those bad boys were visible it will made the movie better.

I noticed the poll after I'd replied in text, so I just answered with Man of Steel. It was hard to choose between it and Thor 2: The Dark World, but Superman was really dull, probably moreso than the blonde god's second outing.

Bullshit. Absolute Bullshit and fanboyish attitude saying that Thor 2 had nothing of worth. The assault on Asgard alone is the best Star Wars moment we've had on film since Return of the Jedi:

I'm not saying that MoS didn't have good action, it did, but to say that Thor 2 didn't while MoS did is just showing bias pure and simple. Thor 2 had some really good action scenes if you were open to actually watching them.

Yeah, well no one would argue with that!

I love DBZ, but somethings that look awesome animated, look hilariously ridiculous in Live-Action.

DBZ-esque fights are one such example.

This is a Sophie's Choice caliber question.

I liked both films. But I was very disappointed in them. As Jett mentioned earlier-my dissappintment in DKR comes from the films that preceded it-some of my favorite films ever. This one just seemed empty, broken and misguided. I was mostly upset because it didn't measure up to the other films and I was sad that most likely I would never see a batman movies of that quality again.

Man of Steel is a movie with an obvious sizable budget, and a good cast. But at its very core DNA, the tone and intention of the movie is just wrong. there are just too many scenes where I was bewildered that that moment got past the script phase. Green Lantern was a colossal disappointment for me, and this was a One Two Punch and let me know how much care and foresight WB has for this connected universe.

Why? Because it doesn't look realistic? Well it's not realistic, they're super heroes. Give me more crazy shit, not less!

While I really liked MoS one line towards the end really rubbed me the wrong way. That female soldier at the end who says something like, "He's kinda cute" was a serious case of tonal dissonance for me after all the horrors that had just transpired. I never even got caught up in that whole collateral damage thing but found that one line to be rather odd.

I think MoS is just a straight up bad film whereas Thor 2's biggest sin is being so forgettable. A case could be made though that being more forgettable is what makes Thor 2 worse. I liked the first Thor but the character has been mostly wasted.

I actually stopped watching MoS when superman was "arrested" and decided to watch the rest the next day, but with a more cynical approach.

I was rewarded with papa supes helping Louis and other silly things.

People love to shit on TDKR for issues really all three movies had. The fight scenes in the Nolan trilogy ae honestly awful. The camera shakes and zooms in to hide how bad it looks, really TDKR uses the least amount of shaky cam which actually made me enjoy those scenes more. Bane vs Batman had more actual emotional weight to it than any other fight in the series.

Also all three films do at least one thing horribly wrong in the end, between completely throwing away Scarecrow to having TDK end with that horrid Twoface scene and TDKR not knowing what to do with its villains at the end.

None of those three films are bad, but they're far from perfect. Really not sure why people go for specific shots of TDKR as if TDK doesn't have shit just as bad. It also had plenty of amazing scenes and Bane is goddamn entertaining.

She thinks he is cute, how that simple fact rubbed you the wrong way?, a simple harmless comment that in fact is no lie at all I mean the man is handsome as all hell that i think she did say what everyone in the theater was thinking.

You found it odd because it's the only real moment of humor in the entire movie. That's why it felt out of place to you. It did to me too, and my gf, and a lot of the people in the theater both times I saw it.

Every fight scene is a moment of humor, dude.

Wow, this is not a nice thing to say.

Did you read the posts I quoted?

What about that sentence is nice? It's incredibly rude and disrespectful. He's essentially saying anyone who likes something he doesn't like deserves to be treated like shit. That's really not okay.

Nah, the smallville fight was incredible. The final Zod fight just got monotonous after the first half hour, but it wasn't funny. The fight on Krypton kind of dragged on too, felt way too Avatar-ish but was at least kind of cool to watch.

No, the first time I saw MoS and it got to that female joke part at the end, that line actually made me smile a bit, and it was only then that I realized it was the first time in two and a half hours that I had even chuckled a little. When I realized that, I realized just how drab and monotone Man of Steel had actually been, and it surprised me. Now that I've watched the blu ray a few times it seems so odd that the film just has no joy or emotion to it at all until the very end.
