Man of steel was decent but TDKR is terrible, fights, momentum, logic, scenario, Epic music when nothing happen on screen made me hate this movie so much lol, Fuck TDKR, one of the worst Batman movie ever.

The Dark Knight Rises becomes a better film when you assume that Bane simply wanted to bring Batman back.

It's a completely different perspective that improves the film, IMO.

"You don't fear death, you welcome it".

The Dark Knight Rises improves if you assume that Bane is actually the Chef from the Muppets after a lengthy gym membership.

I just watched Man of Steel as of 30 minutes ago. What the fuck did I just watch? The action was good but they took a dump on the franchise. Has me concerned for Batman Vs Superman now.

I loved Dark Knight Rises so I guess it's an easy win for Bats.

<insert any live-action Superman movie here> In this case, Man of Steel. Terrible movie. Superman in live-action films is actually the antithesis of what he was created to be... everything he touches turns to crap. Obviously, my opinion, but I've never enjoyed a Superman movie, due to the nature of the hero himself. Either there's no real danger to the hero, or it's some super super SUPER contrived, laughable nonsense that makes me just roll my eyes. Dunno. Just not a Superman guy, I guess.

Super worried about Batman v Superman.

Both MoS and TDKR were poor IMO, but MoS edges it just for being so bloody dour. And thats something considering it is being compared with TDKR.

Thor 2 may not be great, and the scooby doo 'running in and out of doors' teleporting bit near the end is almost laughable. But at least it isn't quite so far up its own ass as either of the other two.

"up its own ass" I call taking chances with the story to try to convey a deeper theme. I like marvel movies but I wouldn't call most of them ambitious, and there's nothing wrong with that in general, just that I prefer seeing new plot threads explored.

The Superman cult worship has me intrigued with BvS. Curious to see what themes Dr. Strange is going to explore as well.

I think BvS will shine some light on plot threads introduced in the first movie. The jesus comparison that Superman had will be explored more and make sense in retrospect. In the end they were probably a little too hamfisted with it.

Goyer's script was rewritten by a someone who's a much better writer so, there's some hope in that.

Rises has a few great scenes mixed in with just some absolute garbage. Man of Steel had some great scenes mixed in with a couple of bad/ok scenes. Its the better movie. Thor 2 was fun its no where near as bad as TDKR.

Man of Steel was a mediocre movie I went into with no expectations. The Dark Knight Rises was a mediocre movie I went into with high expectations due to the previous movies. By this logic I say TDKR sucked more.

I'm voting for the mcu in general because I enjoyed and rewatched both the movies in the thread title more than anything marvel did :)

Both are terrible.

DKR is nonsensical and has terrible action pieces.

MoS is downright insulting. There was no Superman on that movie.

I vote MoS.

In regards to the poll question. I binged Thor 1 + 2 back to back on Sunday and i actually enjoyed Thor 2 more than 1. I liked both movies by the way.

How people could even vote for man of steel when Thor 2 is on that poll is beyond me.

Thor 2 is a strong contender for one of the worst big budget action movies in the last 5 years.

Definitely voted MoS. Thor 2 was at least playful, especially when Loki was around. MoS was dour as fuck.

TDKR was disappointing but overall it was still far more competent compared to the other options here.

The Dark Knight Rises was the most disappointing one. I barely remember Man of Steel though... It doesn't reach the same highs, but it doesn't fall into as deep lows either.

I'll say it's a tie.

I actually kinda liked Thor 2. It wasn't great by any means, but at least it was more fun than the first. Coke Zero makes an interesting antagonist.

I was insulted by
such a mediocre
take on a beloved
character

TDKR was worse because it was coming off TDK, and failed miserably to live up to it's predecessor.

At least Man of Steel had badass DBZ fights.

Man of Steel was boring. Most of the superhero movies entertain me to a degree. But MoS put me to sleep. I actually dozed off in the theater. I'd place it with the recent Spider-Man 2 in terms of boredom. Zzzzzzzz

My main beef with TDKR is that the whole class war angle was just dumped and it turned into Ras Al Guul's daughter revenge nonsense.

Bane was wasted at the end of the film too.

MoS was a great retelling of the story IMO.

Aside from the structure and narrative issues I find Man of Steel to be a pretty enjoyable film. The problem with TDKR is that it squandered a lot of its potential, which was especially disappointing considering the films that proceeded it.
