Quick question...
How should I go about properly installing the new update over the old one? The readme suggests to delete the old fix, but doesn't specify exactly what to delete.
Or would copy and replace get the job done?
I only have one PNG in my texoveride folder, which seems to be the same file from the new fix.Just copy over anything in your DSFix texoveride folder to the new one. And delete DSFix from the DATA folder. Then just copy/cut/paste and replace everything else.

Alright, will do.Then just delete that DSFix folder. And copy/paste everything else in and replace them.
No, you can just connect the controller(s) using a USB cable. It's what I do (with 2 DS3s actually).
No, if it's recognized as an xinput controller and working everything should be fine. Can you disconnect it and see if you still have controllers listed? If so, remove them and reconnect.ive been trying since you posted the link, i have my ds3 found, the mionitor shows its charging and connected, the xinput controller test has all the buttons working. dark souls just doesnt see the controller. no idea if im doing something simple wrong. do i need to setup the controller through steam ?
It sounds like you prefer a subtle AO effect. You could try either VSSAO or VSSAO2 with strength 1.Anyone have any recommendations for the AO options? I've been messing around with the settings, and the AO doesn't play nice with much of the grass. It's especially obvious at firelink shrine. Maybe I should keep everything at the lowest settings?
Did you uninstall the drivers from motioninjoy as well? http://www.motioninjoy.com/wiki/en/help/uninstall#uninstall_the_ds3_tool_and_the_mij_driver_filesive been trying since you posted the link, i have my ds3 found, the mionitor shows its charging and connected, the xinput controller test has all the buttons working. dark souls just doesnt see the controller. no idea if im doing something simple wrong. do i need to setup the controller through steam ?
I just released version 2.2, which restores full DSfix functionality for the latest Dark Souls update. It also adds a new AO method for graphics nerds and screenshotters to play around with![]()

Entirely GPU bound. Pretty much every single option in DSFix is, except for the framerate unlocking. Is the new VSSAO2 option CPU-bound or GPU-bound? I'm assuming the latter since it seems to be a shader?

My SLI gpu scaling in DS is so strange. I still get like 60% GPU scaling even if I crank the resolution to 4k. The frame rate tanks even though my GPU utilization is really just mediocre.
I guess I shall hope for good SLI or GPU scaling with the next game!
I'm having a problem saving the game - whenever I start the game up (on steam), it says I'm not logged into Windows Live and it won't let me log in, or even bring up the Live screen either through the menu button or by pressing the gamepad windows-button.
ALSO, I'm having bad framerate issues, could it just be my laptop? I'm running it on a newer laptop with a Radeon card and plenty of memory.
Any ideas, GAF?

I'm unfortunately running Win. 8. I should've mentioned, that before I posted this thread I did re-install GFWL, and I managed to log into it from the desktop screen, but for some reason it doesn't register any change within the game. I also verified the game cache and it re-installed GFWL during that 2 step initial configuration for the first time running the game. Still it didn't seem to matter.
On the framerate issue, I'm not certain but I'm afraid I might just have to play it on my desktop (which I didn't download the game to because it has a shitty interwebs connection).
I installed DSfix 2.1 last week on my Window 7 PC. I noticed an improvement to resolution. However, I've noticed that in cutscenes that there's alot of color banding, as well as the sky and distant objects during gameplay which are kinda overblown and hazy (blooming I suppose). Is this normal?

that sounds like screen tearing. Vsync should fix it.
also I'm getting vertical lines if i look around fast. I put fps treshold up to 59, that helped quite a bit! is there a way to get rid of it completely?

Just wanted to say "thanks" for this. It's helped me with my issues.I had the same issue, and I resolved it by adding Dark Souls (data.exe) to the Windows DEP exception list.
Right click Computer and select properties.
Click on Advanced System Settings.
Under the Advanced tab in the section called Performance click on the Settings button.
Select Data Execution Prevention tab.
Choose "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select."
Add Dark Souls to the list.
Hope this works for you too. And about the low fps problem, depending on your computer Dark Souls might not be working it hard enough resulting in low fps. Ironically, jacking up anti-aliasing (or something that will increase GPU or CPU load) can help kick your PC into gear a bit and run the game at a smoother, more consistent framerate. Give it a shot if nothing else works.
so I force it through my GPU settings?
Get D3DOverrider that comes with Rivatuner
As for other dsfix settings, turn on DoF and put the added blur at 1.
doesn't work. still getting awful tearing. I can even see a line running from bottom to top om the namco logo at the beginning. anything else I could try?
You could give borderless windowed a shot if you're not already.
Weird though - I thought tearing is usually horizontal and not vertical.
No, I've actually had reports that the UI scaling is more broken now (because of the game update). It's not something I actively develop anymore, the amount of effort required just isn't justified by the result IMHO.I apologize if this has been mentioned already but does the new update also address the bugged UI scaling when looking at the sun?

There you go I kept it in proof for you Durante. Now make some money![]()
.. you bought two different videocards?I'm good for it bro, me and the roommate just sold a completely custom built Chevy Nova (only 1200 miles on it) and split the cash both ways. So I'm $45,000 richer.
Might do the same in a few months with a Dodge Charger we have.
Plus there's this, new customers require new parts. I have no problems spending big if I get what I want. http://i.imgur.com/xXl03gK.jpg Received parts for further proof.http://i.imgur.com/dIyU84U.jpg

Please note: DSVfix is not required right now, as the latest patch does exactly what DSVfix used to, and probably more. It seems to be the 1.08 patch PS3 players got, which fixes stat draining, malicious warps and allows free level ups if you've been drained in the past.
