Just getting started and finished the first tiny bit. Feel VERY dark souls
Any tips or knowledge I need?

So far so good. Not even sure how to parry yet. I'm assuming same as Dark souls. But could be wrong.I just cleared my first playthrough a few days ago. Firstly, savour the experience. Go in blind, try not to look anything up and just have fun.
You don't have have to parry everything. Dodging is perfectly viable, outside of perhaps a few fights where parrying is the best choice. Throwables are extremely useful during the more challenging boss fights too, so save those/stock up for when you need them.
Also, it is possible to re-spec, but the items you need to alter the scaling on your handles are limited so be mindful if you decide to change things up at some point throughout your playthrough.
You're in for a treat. I was a Lies of P denier until I decided to give it a second chance and it pulled me in hard. The dlc is coming too, so you're starting your first run just in time.
I'm excitedJust go with the flow. The game has similar mechanics to Dark Souls and Bloodborne but overall is its own beast entirely. It's not as hard or as punishing as Bloodborne, but there's great challenge for sure.
Amazing game, easily the best non-Fromsoft soulslike with a very fresh and unique setting.
So like Lord Gwynn type parry preparing eh?Parrying works much better I think - much easier to hit the window. More essential as well, because dodging is less effective.
I don't know about that, as I got probably 1/2 way through bloodborne before quitting (not necessarily because of difficulty), but with Lies or P I could NOT beat the archbishop without modding the game to lower the difficulty.Just go with the flow. Wait on easy mode
Gotcha. Stamina it isFirst half easy, second half of the game is a bit hard.
I found dodging useless.
Stamina upgrade is the only upgrade worth it for a very long time.
Yeah I tried playing it like Sekiro (with a bit of dodging) and got wrecked so I dropped it. Then someone told me that I had to hold the parry button down while getting hit and after picking it up again it became a lot more fun for me.Prioritise parry. The trick is you have to hold it pressed during enemy hitbox as opposed to just tapping it on attack like in Sekiro, which a lot of people can't seem to get their heads around and complain.
Also, boss weapons are cool but some weapon handle/blade combinations are truly overpowered, fun to figure those out yourself - use the combat practice garden in Krat.
