Ugh, rewatching the Lazarus video is even more impactful than I expected.

"Look up here, I'm in heaven."

"I've got scars that can't be seen."

I lost a hero today. I lost 2 of my biggest heroes in less than a year (Bowie and James Horner)

The world doesn't want me to enjoy my musical heroes. No other way to explain this.

His son, perfectly reliable. His twitter account, not so much. But I've explicitly been told to stop doing this, so I am. I guess I just gotta accept it...
My fucking god, you are ANNOYING

The music video for Lazarus makes a lot of sense now with the hospital bed focus... I think the part that hurt the worst is how hes frantically writing on the paper, kinda like he's in a race against time to finish the album before he died. :(

If he was battling this for a year and a half, he must have had some thought that Blackstar could be his last album.

It's going to make listening to it absolutely brutal.

I'm a little shell-shocked, devastated, sad. Especially so soon after a new album where he was obviously still so creative.

Only got to see him live once, on the Glass Spider tour - don't think I saw him at his best but still worth it.

In the context of everything we now know "Dollar Days" and "I Can't Give Everything Away" feel very much like a final farewell from a dying man whose made his peace.

He was one of the most important figures of pop music. An absolute legend, a fantastic and inspired performer, an unforgettable voice and a genius songwriter.

RIP :(

Look up here, I'm in heaven.
I've got scars that can't be seen

Look up here, man, I'm in danger
I've got nothing left to lose
I'm so high, it makes my brain whirl
Dropped my cell phone down below
Ain't that just like me?

Oh, I'll be free
Just like that bluebird
Oh, I'll be free
Ain't that just like me?

:(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

Damn. Pleased I managed to see him live - it was an amazing show.

Station to Station is one of my favourite albums of all time.

Exactly my thoughts, FP. I'm gutted.

He gave us so much.

Gotta break my feather boa out of whatever box it's laying in for this. I can't handle it.

He was our peoples voice, he gave us a voice when we had none, he gave us an identity, when we had none.

This just crushes me. I am in legitimate shock that Ziggy is gone. It just doesn't feel real.

David Bowie was supposed to live forever... :(

I reckon he was aware and planned his album release around it. The album feels just like an epitaph in places, so it makes a lot of sense.

What a huge loss. Legend in every sense of the word, and in a lot of ways still ahead of the times now. RIP.

Definitely, Lazarus (and the video) and the final two tracks have new meanings now.

It's going to be hard listening to Everyone Says Hi now knowing he had his father's death in mind when he wrote it.

I was hoping the thread title resulted in some sort misinformation.

I don't think I've felt this bad in a long time.

RIP you legend.

Fuck.

Fuck.

Fuck.

Rest in peace.

And may he always be only Stardust now. Goddamnit Ziggy. Not like this. Fuck.

"Great" way to start the week, FUCK!!

RIP Mr. Bowie.

Can't believe this, especially he released a new album just a couple of days ago.

Damn. He was my favorite musician. We lost a legend today, but he went out with a bang. If releasing Blackstar days before the big sleep isn't a good way for Bowie to go, I don't know what would have been. Especially given the themes of the album, he must have known it was coming. Still, I hate that he's gone.

For someone like Bowie who was just so charismatic and influential, it just seemed like he was immortal and could never die...Well, now, not in our hearts and minds, anyway...
