the crazy part is that I thought about this day and how i'd feel about it more than once. specially when lou died.

and now im just numb

I will never forget him because of Labyrinth, i LOVED that movie as a child (and i still do, of course!).
RIP

I've always really wanted someone to make a movie musical out of Bowie's work.

Some crazy-ass sci-fi story involving Major Tom disappearing in space and leaving cryptic messages to Ground Control, while Ziggy Stardust becomes a worldwide rock sensation. Then a full-blown totalitarian state takes over from fear of the intergalactic threat (The Man Who Sold the World / Diamond Dogs), before ending with the Starman finally arriving to earth.

The music is just so rich and approachable, it always made me think of this Bowie-verse that existed.

Also, he was just cooler than everyone else.

You just gave me an idea.

No way... my favourite artist. His music is beautiful and helped me get through a lot of shit. Always wanted to see him live but I've never had the chance.
Awful news to wake up to.

Fuck

This is not the news I was expecting to see this morning.

Life On Mars? is probably one of the few songs to actually make me have to stop for a minute and be amazed (along with Boston's Foreplay/Long Time and Rush's Spirit Of Radio)

Vocals in that song are so powerful, yet at the same time don't distract from the instrumentation, this is probably one of the main reasons why I was drawn to his music.

It's almost perfect, you have that beautiful piano arrangement that gently underscores the soaring vocals and you have that transition from the verse to the chorus, which basically just picks you up and throws you high, high into the air. Songs that have that kind of profound effect are few and far between, at least for me. It's such a wonderful song. It's effect is immediate and over powering in just the most euphoric, uplifting way possible. It's in my top ten Bowie tracks. It's an obvious choice, but then, it's just so effortlessly brilliant.

I play Rock Band for the first time in weeks today and one of the last songs I play is Space Oddity. I look up the news right after and this hits me. My heart is breaking.. RIP Davie.

Some people go through life not ever accomplishing anything, and there are also those who die and it's absolutely impossible to believe. David Bowie is both one who managed to do everything and be so important to everyone that his death seems absolutely unbelievable.

He will be sorely missed.

Wow this was so unexpected. My Labyrinth re-watch has been long overdue. And as I was typing this I just realized I literally watched the opening of The Snowman just a few hours ago to hear the opening music which he was narrating to.

Rest In Peace, Bowie.

Most musicians don't realise the notes that you don't play are just as important as the ones you do, That track is a perfect example of it.

RIP. David Bowie was my favorite artist. I didn't know how to handle this news so I stayed up and listened to Blackstar and drew this picture as tribute.

Thanks for decades of amazing music.

RIP

One of the most iconic artists of our time! Very shocking considering he just released a new album but it shows his dedication to his music even though he was dying. :(
