Part of me wants them to do it asap so everyone can see what the game is about.

Dude, he tweeted that Indy was close to being one of his all time favorite games. He also tweeted that Sony should be worried about the games Xbox is releasing next year.

I think Indy is just an ok game and I also don't think Xbox is releasing anything better than Ghost of yotei or Death stranded 2 next year.

48 and yeah the nostalgia-driven joy felt playing through this as an old Indiana Jones fan is just nuts. My face already hurt from smiling when playing Astro Bot, from having lots of nice memories from the early PlayStation days. But that’s still adult days. Indy is something else, he was there when I was a kid watching movies I probably shouldn’t see yet, can’t beat that. And he’s THE movie hero for me. The starter part was just pure love! It’s definitely made by fans and for fans. So much fan service!

And the voice work is absolute top notch! I don’t get how they did that. Is it AI or Troy Baker doing his best performance ever? If it’s all Troy then he HAS to win the best performance TGA award in 2025, if he isn’t they can just scrap the whole event. The guy doing the villain is top notch as well, so many memorable lines! Like the Kara-Te line!

I always liked Jaffe in the past, because he wasn't afraid to say what he was thinking. I also think it's cool that he didn't cancel Colin with the rest of the industry losers. He's still that guy, mostly, but sometimes comes off as mean and uneducated of late. I really noticed it in his post-election podcast he did with Colin.

Can always dodge the politics and just talk games. As a big Indy fan I can only agree on your Indy praise, and it’s great hearing that you enjoy one of the best action adventures in recent years to the point of considering it surpass Elden Ring. For me Indy stomped up my GOTY list from day 1. It’s not perfect, no game is, but the good things outweigh the bad for me and in the end it’s a and the real GOTY and at least on my all-time top 10 or so.

They have Fable and Doom and a bunch of smaller, AA type games. Should be a good year? I dunno what that has to do with the competition though, they also have great stuff. Not sure why Jaffe felt the need to highlight that since he's not dumb as to the expected lineups.

He's just repeating what he's said for years. His theory has been that GP is great but they haven't sold the full potential of the vision yet. The full potential according to Jaffe is frequent releases, and high quality releases. Eventually, it just becomes a bit overwhelming and starts to crowd out other publishers. 2025 is starting to feel a tiny bit like that for fans of GP. When you list it all out, its already immense. If Oblivion remake is real, that's 7 1st party games next year not including Replaced, Citizen Sleeper, Eternal Strands, Mixtape, Clair Obscura, Alters and more. And now we're seeing the quality bar raising as well.

He's not saying they are stronger than PS. He's saying MS is finally hitting their potential just slightly for the 1st time as a publisher.

I'm a big fan of your games but not your politics especially when they have nothing to do with gaming. But come on, Twisted Metal 2 and God of War series has been some of the best gaming I've ever had.

Cook or get cooked? I actually think Microsoft is better off focusing on Xbox the app versus Xbox the console. That’s not a new thought either. Windows 10 is done with in late 2025. They’ll focus on making Windows 11 the place for everything.

I think being in my 50's that Indiana taps heavily into the nostalgia of the franchise for me, elevating it perhaps further.

Everything from the presentation, to the incredible music to the excellently played villain of the piece taps into that.

Makes it game of the year for me for that.

Don’t know what game that was about but it’s not an interactive movie or linear walking simulator if that’s what he talked about.

Not sure what to compare it to, it’s taking bits and pieces from all kinds of games and the end result makes it feel very unique. Main quests trigger cutscenes as usual but there is a ton of freedom in this game. It’s using an open map in a hub-like structure, new hub for each location, and it’s unusually vertical with lots of whip swinging and climbing and then zip lines as shortcuts sending you down and long underground cave systems with traps and mysteries as expected, side quests everywhere and lots to explore and different paths for different tactics and combat is a playground with options.
Map design is incredible.

Say what you want about Jaffe but I still have to give him, what the young kids say, their "flowers" for creating Kratos and God of war. I couldn't care if it's 19 years ago. I respect hip hop artists and artists in general for works they created older than that.

I don't have to agree with the person on every aspect and some times I may think their opinions are trash (metroid dread) but I still respect the work and artistic vision.

Kratos and God of war landed at a perfect time for me and I fell in love with the character and franchise. It's not deep, it's based on Greek mythology which is awesome anyway but it was just great violent fun. Nothing crazy just good fun. Not technically the greatest action game by a long shot. But anyway, props for creating an franchise that has lasted for almost 20 years.

Dude, all you had to do was say you really enjoyed Indiana Jones and leave it at that. But when you post stuff like this:

...then yes, it does look like you're console-warring. There are a million people earlier THIS YEAR who said the same thing and look what happened? Where was this bad-ass 2024 for Xbox that was going to curb-stomp PS once and for all? It never materialized. You guys just keep overhyping MS's lineup and set up this negative feedback loop when the games finally arrive and either end up mediocre, decent, solid (but not in a way clearly outdoing most of the other strong GOTY picks that are a lot more popular), or...get delayed into the next year.

It's like there's this massive insecurity with people who really like or just prefer Xbox, where they just can't enjoy the platform on its own merits. Everything eventually has to get twisted into being a referendum on PlayStation one way or another, and it just looks stupid.

I mean yeah, he deserves props for helping make God of War, no one can take that from him. But it definitely feels like he has bad blood with SIE since being let go. There's a consistent tone he has when he talks about PlayStation stuff (especially when it could be viewed as potentially negative news) where he just hams it up. But when it's most stuff Xbox-related, he bites his tongue or treats them with kids gloves.

He's not alone in that though; just tons of Western gaming content creators and media are that way in general. A lot of them were either hardcore in the Ambassador program or big 360 fans back in the day who still hold out hope that era of Xbox comes back. I wouldn't have mind if that era came back myself, but I'm also a realist, and realistically it's never coming back. So, no reason to make up FUD about or attack PlayStation in the hopes that it does.

Tho that doesn't mean I don't criticize PlayStation; hell I've questioned a lot of stuff with them this year like the whole HD2 PSN fiasco, Concord, the PS+ price hike, Firewalk closure (Neon Koi not as much since they basically became a Sing Star dev for most of their life), Hulst's view on PC not being a competitor to PS, lack of a Showcase, questionable SOPs (for the most part), their whole GAAS gambit being dumb, PS5 price hike, the software situation in Japan etc. But I don't let that stop me from giving kudos for the things they do right like the Shift Up partnership, Kadokawa partnership & investments, Astro Bot, Helldivers 2, (finally) technical breakdown on PS5 Pro, consistently strong sales, etc.
