Days Gone Remastered Officially Announced | State of Play

For some reason I thought you get the PS5 upgrade for free and the horde mode for $10.
I believe that's how it works on PC.
This is how it works in PC, because it already had most of the tech improvements before the remaster. I don't know if they introduced some tech improvements in the PC version for the remaster, I'd bet they didn't. Maybe DualSense features support if it already didn't have them.

So basically for PC they simply sold the new game modes introduced with the remaster as a DLC. As I remember time attack, permadeath and the one I'd say has more work put on it: the horde mode. I'd say the content might be too short to sell it independently, but I'm pretty sure fans will enjoy it: either the hardcores for the time attack or permadeath, or for the horde mode.

7 hours in, so glad i kept this in backlog for so long to play.
always thought it was mid-ass-mid game, but having a great time. cool surprise so far.
was it received "meh" because of technical issues and bugs back then? or maybe it gets bland after 10hrs like many open world games?

I find it funny that the two games with Sam Witwer in on PS5 Pro both render above 4K.
Not funny "haha" I just find it ironic..

Mainly because of the tech issues. Had those not been an issue it would have scored around a low to mid-80s on Metacritic.

More like by the time you hit 10 hours it's where the story and everything really gets going, at least by the time you hit Lost Lake, though I find things pick up for me when you're at Tucker's camp. It's also when you start getting some halfway decent weaponry.

as someone who played it and instantly refunded it on launch on PS4 Pro... it was unplayable to me.
the game quite literally felt like the aiming controls were fighting against you. there was an extreme amount of input lag, and the aiming itself had really bad smoothing and aim acceleration on it iirc.

I have since played it again on PS5 with the 60fps patch and with gyro aiming. the 60fps patch drastically reduced input lag, and the gyro aiming means I didn't have to rely on the sub-par analog aiming.
the gyro aiming is also not great (too much smoothing, weird acceleration, slight delay), but it is now actually playable.

I've read that multiple people are seeing graphical hitches on PS5 Pro. Unfortunately, I am also in that camp. In the 17 hours (yes, I didn't do a whole hell of a lot this weekend, haha) I've played, the biggest graphical issue I've noticed are light sources. Flashlights, in particular, have this weird rainbow look to them. I haven't taken any screen shots (of that), but I do find it visually jarring. I also noticed that telephone/power lines look kind of janky. Overall though, the PS5 Pro enhanced mode looks great.

I got the 40 fps update, but can't tell if is better or not. Not a huge fan of 40fps mode, but is there to who like.

I wish they implement FSR3 on the performance mode to match the PS4pro version with CB render.
