I've been bumped back down to junior after a few years :-( but I think this warrants a new thread if someone else will be willing to do so -

"Played" through the HL2 engine version. I really wanted to like it, and well... it looks nice... but it was mostly confusing and, to be honest, rather boring. A cool experiment though, but I wouldn't play it again... unless they've made some changes with this version? Or is it just the same thing with prettier graphics?

It's a bit expanded like there will be a few alternate pathways, but it's mostly just remastered graphics and sound.

Awesome! I played the original HL2 mod and it was very good, it reminded my of Alan Wake.

I will be eager to play this. Although my PC can't handle Portal 2's settings on max :(.

Looks good. The muted uproar by the mod community about this going commercial was a little bemusing.

Technically the engine is still showing its age, but this (like most Source games honestly) is clearly a case of art over tech.

Sorry for multiple posts, but launch date was confirmed just now -

I hope this game is well received, those guys have a lot riding on the success of this title. I'll be doing my part.

Looks really interesting. Totally on my radar now.

I wish Valve games looked as good as this does. The environments look so much more natural and atmospheric than LFD2 enviros.

Those evironments look nice. But just knowing the map sized is very small (due to the engine), really puts a damper on it.
