Averno City, 1983. Gangs rule the streets and your father lies restless in his grave. Clean up the city, uncover the truth, and embark on thrilling vehicle chases through destructible environments in this neon-noir action sandbox police game.

Came here to create this thread.

Played it for a little while. The game does require a bit of polish. Performance also needs a bit more optimization.

The concept and the world-building remain the most amazing aspects of the game. The character movement feels a bit awkward, and the shooting isn't the best either.

But if there is ever The Precinct 2, with improvements across the board, you know that game is just gonna win awards.

I liked it, ran strangely on my Legion Go. Graphics were just fine I think.

Controls were simple enough. Work on the performance and if the story and gameplay is solid through the whole game...Im in.

Game is pretty good. The demo is short, I finished it in about 30 minutes and it takes you on three missions to show the basics.

It seems there is a ton of depth but I'm not really sure if it's all smoke and mirrors. Game looks nice, controls are solid.

Biggest turnoff at this point is the synthwave which is a complete mismatch with the game's vibes. Bizarre music choice.

I agree, the music felt a bit out of place to me as well

  • Minimum:
    • Processor: Intel Core i5-10400 / AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
I haven't seen an indie game that requires such a powerful processor in a long time. If it's a 2.5D GTA as it seems, then it's reasonable.

I played the demo. It felt like doing police missions in GTA, but with a more serious tone. The experience felt too limited—being a cop and following all the rules wasn’t that enjoyable. I want to shoot something(which is satisfiying), like a bin, but no, you are cop, mission restarts. How fun can catching thieves and writing tickets for parked cars really be? It could be more engaging if there were a sandbox mode. Mods will bring GTA like sandbox to this, if they don't do it themselves.

As for the camera, I usually like the isometric angle, but in this game, it really limited my view, especially during the car chase sections. That said, I really enjoyed the car driving physics.

Oh, I also didn’t quite like the storytelling. It felt like I was playing a JRPG; they just wouldn’t stop talking.

Anyone else have trouble arresting people? I got the first dude in the car, took to the police station, said I can't enter until they're arrested. I'd hit the Resolve and then Arrest and nothing would happen . . .

The whole arrest mechanic feels super clunky, honestly.

Are you sure you got both of them? There were two guys that needed to be arrested after the car chase.

I really enjoyed their previous game American Fugitive, but apparently it was buggy as hell when it launched. I bought it months later and it felt reasonably polished with only smaller bugs and no crashing.

Planning to do the same with The Precinct, I definitely love the idea of doing cop work. Beat Cop released several years ago was a cool concept and I played a lot of Police Quest in my Amiga days. :)

Cop work is all fun and games. Until you need to do the paperwork.

Can you date co-workers in this game, because I would get fired asking that red head cop out.

In The Precinct, you play as a rookie cop in the fictional 1980s Averno City where you will get the chance to chase down criminals, solve crimes, and issue the occasional parking ticket. This gameplay footage was captured during Steam Next Fest 2024 on PC running at 4K 60fps.

but the bones are there for something interesting. I'm all in for the full 3rd person sequel eventually.
