See where they fucked up is not going with the A, then they could have all those "Black people say it, why can't I" backers.

should have just gone with *rine* for the photo and let people try to figure it out the rest of the day. But this... is much more subtle.

I wish no harm to come to these poor girls.

Well outside of getting rejected by the colleges they really wanted to go to and rejected from the college they settled on.

Oh my god.

This is one of my favorite SNL skits of all time.

This thread was worth it for this gif alone.

Idiots.

There's context missing from the OP... they didn't wear the shirts with the intention of slurring, they're just morons that thought it would be funny to rearrange some letters. It wasn't funny.

I guess the "I" is actually a "1".

I blame South Park.

So this is basically the shirt equivalent to spelling "HELL" or "BOOBS" on a calculator, in that its not really meant to be a declaration of racism so much as "tehee, we can spell a bad word!"

Is it fucking stupid tho? you betcha

Based on the title I guessed Arizona.

I wonder how exasperated the black person is at that school. People must think he/she has early onset Parkinson's based on how much their head shakes.

They aren't kids.

They're high school seniors. They're old enough to know this is wrong.

They're racist enough to do it.

Ha haa ha ha ha AH AH AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA

Oh holy shit

I think the only people dumber than high school seniors may be college kids. At least when they're home they have mom to slap them if they start thinking they're real adults.

Teenagers are just fucking stupid, and nigger is a very bad, very obscene word and thus, to teenagers, hilarious.

That people are going crazy and actually tracking down their names, that's fucked up. Not to say that these kids didn't do a vile thing but that's kind of what teenagers do and we should be better than to go all mob justice on them.

I think there's def some truth to this, that was the general thinking amongst a group of friends in hs, most of us were aping shit people like Chappelle or other black comics said, there wasn't any malice behind it. Not that we'd ever be as fucking clueless as these girls and broadcast it for everyone to see.

Doxxing stupid teens isn't justice no matter how you wanna spin it. I bet you at least one of these girls contemplates self harm from the backlash they're likely going to face now.

Pretty much. Don't really get comments that act like they were already at a lofty place of emotional maturity in hs. Dumb as rocks, kids with out of control hormones the lot of em.

"teehee, ni**ers!" draws from more wells of bad intent than "teehee, b**bies!" does.

A separate picture from a Desert Vista parent on Instagram showed the girls' lettered shirts as part of a larger message spelling out "BEST*YOU'VE*EVER*SEEN*CLASS*OF*2016".

From the story.

Not funny. At all really. They are old enough to know this is wrong. Dumb or not. Being a teenager doesn't give you free reign to do racist shit. They were suspended and rightfully so. Don't think it needs to be taken any further personally.

Well the suspension was deserved, of course, but I have to laugh at the idea that high school seniors are old enough to know just about anything. The behavior needs discipline and correction, but they're just kids doing stupid things because they think it's funny.

I think if you try to expect teenagers to behave as an adult (with an established moral compass) would you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

i dont even get why thats appealing, are they out in the open racists or something?

From the story.

oh, so its not something they intentionally set out to do from the start, it makes more sense to me if it was a spur of the moment thing,

not that im ok with it, i just wanted to know why they did it

Is it weird as a black guy I actually find the asterisks more offensive than the fact they spelled it out this way for a photo? I mean if you want to make a racist ass statement then go all in and dont be a fucking coward about it. I mean, who are they trying to impress? Fellow racist, or the censorship police?

So do you think it was ok for Dylan Roof to get off? Not saying that what they did was comparable, but if your only defense for this is that "they're teenagers, and don't know any better" then I expect your line of thinking to be consistent.

Who knows what they would have done. The original statement didn't have any g's in it. It is amazing though that out of some 30 odd characters they found 6 fuck-wits willing to pose this way for a picture. Absolutely disgusting and I hope (at the least) this picture keeps popping up on them all for the rest of their lives.

Hey let's revisit the post that you quoted without reading.

They did a dumb, offensive thing--and got a deserved suspension--but I'm more surprised that people are shocked and outraged as my first thought was simply "Teenagers are just the worst."

lol what idiots.

Even as a kid, so many people do so many stupid things that confuses me still. First of all, if you're gonna do this, don't let anyone take a picture, that is evidence. or if you do take a picture, blur your faces Bunch of idiots.

Oh and they don't even have the balls (clits?) to show the whole word. So they are both racists and cowards.

I did read your post, but that doesn't change the fact that your still making excuses for something that has no excuse. If you truly think that what they did was dumb and deserved punishment, then you would leave at that and not say stupid shit like "they're dumb teenagers" in defense of it.

Uh, no.

They're old enough to know this is wrong. The so-called "mom at home" is probably also just as racist, though, so I doubt there will be any slaps.

Feel like the world took a giant step back at some point.. or maybe it's just from being from Seattle.. I graduated high school nearly 20 years ago and no one would have done any shit like this back then. We had racists but they were incredibly unpopular and were likely to get their ass kicked for it.

Sure, if boobies had a long history of being used in racial oppression, you took a picture of the word boobies, and then mailed it to everyone on the planet, then they're almost identical.

What does football have to do with this?

I was assuming the Cardinals are the reason you don't like the state of Arizona considering how harsh you are towards them. I was just joking anyway. We actually have an ocean about 4 hours drive from me in Mexico.

Having an expectation for lousy behavior from teenagers is not the same as defending it. And the only "defense" I've offered is that maybe adults, who actually should know better, don't go to the lengths of ID'ing them and harassing them on twitter. They've already been punished locally, and if the whole nation intervenes every time a dumb kid does a dumb thing well then we're just a bunch of idiots.
