I played through about 3/4 solo and it does a good job of being complacent and easy, then ramping up the amount of enemies that surround you. I certainly felt overwhelmed at times, until I was able to get a better bearing on my surroundings, i.e. run for your life. But once you realize how big of an environment surrounds you, it's not too hard to defeat some of the tougher challenges. And you have your super powers; boss guy shows up, whittle them down a bit, then unleash fury. Personally, Ive found solo has kept a nice balance between being challenging and having fun.
 
I swear to christ, Microsoft better patch this shit so that it simply says "Destiny 2" on your friends list and not "Destiny 2 - Base Game". It makes my friends list look hideous. Why do I need to know that it's the base game they're playing?!

Not a MSFT thing, that's how Bungie lists the game "asset" in the store. Not sure why they did that...
 
Bronx, just awesome what you put in the PM, will add to the tips post. I don't know how you figured that out but awesome.
Go to the wire connecting the two main buildings, tightrope walk halfway until the buff and then jump off. You'll get a second buff, plus a other x2. Then do the water wheel for x4. Then go to the fire to start the mini-quest. It's a race to find and stand on all of the lights (get to one, it goes, another appears) before the (hidden) timer runs out.

Do it in time and you receive a permanent (well, until leaving or death) buff that keeps you the brightest shade of blue and gives full moon jump.

I had the same thing, I was in a fire team. I think you have to go solo, gonna test that later

Played for most of the afternoon/evening. I was a bit worried going in. Not anymore. This sequel is the real deal.

The campaign is excellent. The first hour, especially the part following the tower attack where you're wandering in the wild (with that hauntingly beautiful soundtrack), had more intensity and heart than anything that came before in this franchise.

Right now I'm at level 10 and I've got so many things to do I don't even know where to start. And it's all interesting and exciting stuff thanks to huge improvements in exploration.

Impressions have been equally positive for my clanmates. We didn't expect it to be as special as the experience we had starting D1 three years ago, but in many ways it is.

I got burned on the expansion pass last time with Destiny but it's pretty clear they've learned some important things at Bungie. I'll be picking up the DLC in December for sure.

Shame the character creator is still garbage, but I was fine keeping my Awoken Space Rihanna™ for another ride.

Haha no problem, let me clarify:

  • Get to the roof of the central building and tightrope walk the wire to the hangar until you receive a buff. Then jump off (to the ground)
  • You should get a second buff from the fall.
  • Go to the water wheel and walk atop it for a bit to get the last buff you need
  • Go to the fire by the dock, you can now interact with it
  • This starts a hidden timer for a race. Look toward the football field and you'll see the Dead Orbit crate in front of you is glowing, go stand on it
  • The light will disappear, another will reappear. Chase the lights and finish the race.
  • If done in time you'll receive a permanent (until death or leaving) buff called 'Patrol Commander' that turns you bright blue (more than the single buff) and gives you full moon jump

It's pretty damn awesome. Knew by the nature of the internet we wouldn't be first but was fun to figure it out piece by piece regardless. Just noticed one of the buffs from the tightrope walk and went from there.
 
Are we ready yet to criticize the game?

While I like it I can't help but think that we are fighting the same enemies again, as such the environment also looks awfully similar.
Also just played a strike that was over after basically 5min, the first major encounter was also the final fight, no fucks given from the devs, probably was the ps exclusive strike.
That felt really odd as the main missions are now quite long and side missions are also quite prolonged compared to D1.

Also if the fireteam leader tracks something, it should be replicated to all members.

All in all I like the game but can't shake the feeling that I've seen it all before :/

You can pick between the two class abilities on either subclass, then grenade, jump, and one of two "paths" or "specs" that are a group of four perks designed to work with each other.

. You do not necessarily find it in the
first chest you open from Level 7 or 14
. I found the artifact for the Warlock's first Sub-Class at
Level 7 in a chest
and clarified this information with the Prima guide.

That's not encouraging. Got it last night in a decent amount of time at about midnight US central. Dropped out after a single match of getting wrecked, but it didn't seem to take too long.

Anyone with ps4 Pros having issues? Working fine on mine but my friend said his crashes when he gets to the
Tower plaza
in the first mission. He also had the same issue in the beta. If anyone has any suggestions or is having the same issues I’d be curious to hear how widespread of an issue this is or if there’s any known fixes.

Yeh it's rough but will no doubt be resolved soon. Just thankful there's so much else to do. If it weren't for the milestone I wouldn't have even tried at this point.

Having no issues myself but I heard that some people are. There's a thread somewhere.

Don't think so.

I didn't have destiny installed, nor did I even have the save file on my pro.

But the beginning of the game remembered everything I did. So yeah. Bungie saves your profile server side i guess.

Ah just spotted it, I’ll browse that in a few. Just came straight to the OT but thank you. He’s playing on a 4KTV not a 1080 so not sure if that part of it is really relevant. Seems odd Bungie wouldn’t have known about this is the issue stems from the beta though and seems like a fairly large issue, especially if anyone who bought the new D2 Pro Bundle is having the problem.
