Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

Not sure how people are 280 light. I'm having a hard time at around 240.

It's going to be terrible trying to hit 240 for me. I'm at 237. And I'm pretty sure I have only 3 adventures left.

Hitting 265 is not that difficult actually. Lost sectors, PE, adventures, strikes, crucible and basically every activity in the game will drop blues that scale with your max ll and they softcap at 265

The real struggle is to level up after hitting 265-270

Did they say how often the free updates will happen? I'd love it if they added new activities with them like an Archon's Forge for D2. Though I know it's more of a fit for the DLC than a free update.

Unfortunately, they didn't say a word about free updates since they announced Destiny 2, they only said they would provide content at a faster frequency than Destiny 1.

I heard Sparrow Racing would definitely be there with a free update, so I guess it means SRL will be there soon with new maps and gears, but we can't say much about this either.

I thought they would announce free content coming to D2 alongside their roadmap for Month 1, but I guess we will have to wait longer.

I wonder if D2 will ever get a free update before the first DLC comes out.

Yeah playing MP at 30 in a shooter is so last gen. Not feeling it. Luckily the PVE is fun and addicting.

That and the piss poor netcode that they just took out showing peoples pings so people 'won't notice' when there is lag. Game still favors laggers and they end up at the top of the leaderboard.

Finished everything I can do with my first character. Ended up with 279 light level, which is kind of a bummer because you can start buying legendary weapon mods at 280, I probably could have squeezed a couple more levels. Oh well.

I'm starting my second character, same class. Any tips for how I should proceed with the second character?

The PVP is pretty garbage.

Anyway, since I'm still a little lost on infusion
- Borealis is 283 with the +5 mod (so 278 + 5 right?)
- Darci is 274 (269 + 5)

If I want to get the Borealis higher, I'd need a sniper rifle that is higher than 283 right? Because if I do this one, my Bore goes down to 274?

Is nightfall soloable?

Unless some sort of exploit comes out, no.

is there a destiny 2 app for moving stuff between characters or does the old one work for 2?

also need one person for the regular nightfall

edit: thanks for the info

I don't have Call to Arms. How to unlock?

Shaxx gives it very early in the game. It consists out of playing 2 Quickplay games, 2 competitive games and then you need to fill an invisible bar to 100%, I think I had it after some 6 ish games (I heard 2 kills or assists is 1%, playing a match is 2% etc).

I think so yeah, If you get a 283 sniper it will end up 288. Or anything above 278 which means it will end up 284 at the very least? lol.

On vacation at Disneyland to spread joy to my toddler, and Destiny keeps calling me. The grind is glorious. The orchestra music that is Disney background music is no match for the Destiny load in music. I'll have to settle for the Guardians of the Galaxy Ride as a cheap Destiny knockoff.

hunters got dicked in this game. shitty armor, shitty cloaks, shitty subclasses. at least they're still good in pvp i guess, and i died a whole lot less during the campaign on my hunter than my i-can't-jump-lock

They could have at least let us keep blink. The bottom tree for Gunslinger is top tier for PvE and PvP so not everything is going against Hunters.

You dont need a sniper at 283, you just need one with a higher base strength than your borealis. So 279 and up.

I dont think you can go down in level by infusing. If you infuse the darci into the bore you'd just lose the darci and the power level would stay the same (i think)

Ok yeah, I couldn't even do it anyway as the Darci is low level, I don't remember what made me think I could've infused it in the first place.

Ended up getting a Merciless from an engram a few mins ago. So now I need some stuff to push me above 275 lol.

I think the only milestone I have left is NF.

I think stuff like Faction Rally (we still have no idea what this is) is some of the free content.

Like the Osiris DLC having Mercury as a new patrol zone, I guess each DLC will have a new area to patrol, either being a new destination or added like the Plagueland was to the Old Russia with RoI.

I'm curious what the free updates will contain. Maybe just new rewards for exiting activities, and nothing more than Sparrow Racing? Really curious tbh.

One day we'll get an icy/snow planet/moon like Europa or Hyperion... maybe.. :/

I'll ask again has anyone tried the exotic Hard Light ?

More or less do heroic public events until you're 260, then farm tokens. Save milestones until you're like 266 or above if you can.

edit: hold onto 5 blue scout rifles if you can, as well as saving 5 legendaries to decrypt and 1 exotic. You'll need them for quests.

Cool, cheers, I feel like reading the topic back through a bit people seem to know what they are generally doing but I just got round to finishing and haven't a clue. So I'll just keep doing public events and such till I get to 260 for now and leave the rest.

Do I leave bright engrams or can I use them? And reset day is tuesday, what do I need to have done by Tuesday so the reset matters
Thanks again.

still need one for a normal nightfall run on ps4

app doesn't feel as snappy as i remember it being, maybe it's just launch issues though

level 20, and i think im about to reach the last mission. Is it me or did this feel shorter than d1? felt like i pummelled through main missions really quick.

bright engrams you can use immediately. You want to be a high enough LL(270 or so I believe) when you do your milestone, since they reset on tuesdays.

I've been using this guide:

Nightfall boosted my main warlock from 277 to 281 yesterday, so started a titan and got to 20 today.

For those of you leveling alts, heroic public events is by far the fastest way to do it. I wasted too much time doing campaign missions and found I probably should have just done public events the whole way.

Also you don't realize how nice the reduced sparrow spawn time modifier is until you're using the slow one you get from completing the campaign.

Yep. I'm at 278 and hit a wall. It sucks after such a smooth steady climb before this.

I thought the Nightfall timer was pretty intense when first trying it, but I could understand why they added and the player habits it's meant to eliminate. First time round I think we did it with a few seconds left, after about three or four failures.

Then I ran it again last night with two friends who hadn't done it yet. First attempt we cleared it with 4:20 on the clock. Definitely something that rewards practice and knowledge of the strikes. I'm enjoying that mechanic to be fair.

Ended the weekend with about 48 hours of play time, sitting at 277. Did my milestones FAR too early.

Tempted to make another Hunter so I can just transfer gear back and forth to level up more. Thing is though, with more milestones and activities coming round he corner, I'm wondering if it's worth it.
