Destiny 2 |OT| Here We Go Again

I understand why it had to happen, due to the development issues in Destiny 1.

But my hope is that they will be added back in over time as one of the reasons I got into Destiny at all was the idea that the universe would keep building and that in Destiny 2 + 3, I could visit the Cosmodrome with some new activities.

I think the groundwork is perfect now in Destiny 2. I hope to see them give us an update where they add back old zones with the new activities from the current game. Open up some doors and caves that were closed before to give us some Lost Sectors and Adventures.

Then with Destiny 3, they'll have a base that allows them to easily bring all the previous areas forward with new areas.

And with that hope, I wonder how they would do it. We know that Expansion I is on Mercury but we don't know where Expansion II, the one based around Rasputin, will take place.

Will it be another new area? Or will they add Cosmodrome back into the game with the Plaguelands attached, as one large zone?

My dream scenario, assuming there's a two-year time frame as was originally planned for D1:

September 2017: Destiny 2
December 2017: Expansion I
March 2018: Expansion II
June 2018: free update (Cosmodrome w/ Plaguelands, Moon)

September 2018: $40 retail expansion
December 2018: Expansion III
March 2019: Expansion IV
June 2019: free update (Venus, Mars, Dreadnaught)

Fall 2019: Destiny 3

In between all of this, we would have smaller events like Festival of the Lost, SRL, maybe some extras. These would obviously be backed with a lot of Eververse microtransactions as well.

I don't think wanting the old zones with new activities to be free updates is asking a lot of Bungie, to be honest.

Leveled a second guy, transferred all my gear to him and then got Zavala's free exotic and the new MIDA at higher power levels since it's based on light levels.

That, but more importantly, paying attention to what Legendaries I got that had Legendary mods already attached since they're +5's basically. Raising those.

Spending all glimmer on Banshees rare mods and then changing them into Legendary mods with +5s once I hit 280.

I just finished my 3rd guy yesterday and did the MIDA quest a third time, finished it a few minutes ago. Not reflected in that picture...and it just came back at 300.

I was killed by plenty a shotgun at auto rifle range, some of the rolls were ridiculous, and then you had the titan overshield running shotgunner which you could do little about.

I agree on the cooldowns, and more people though, they should have a mode for that, it'd also be nice to be able to pick which mode im playing instead of relying on a playlist that picks for me.
 
This game went way overboard with the visual effects in regards to your vision.
Too many flashes and light bursts... felt like my screen was constantly under attack. Way too much

Reminded me of the recent Star Trek movies. Gross
 
i frankly don't want "new activities" on "old destinations" unless they're completely redesigned, which isn't going to happen for free updates. the design of d2 areas is wholesomely different from d1 areas. they can't just open up doors and call them lost sectors, especially after we just spent 3 years exploring all of those nooks and crannies.
 
Starting to get super annoyed. Can't find ANY Servitors in the EDZ and the stupid Public event won't happen.

Are there ANY places in the EDZ with legit Servitors?

Do the public event where they're extracting glimmer with the floating drill or whatever. It's the one where three orange guys show up, then a fourth. I managed to get 9/10 in that one alone; too bad I didn't do this right away, spent like 45 mins only getting one of three of those yellow bar captains lol.

Is there an easier way of finding cabal caches? Doing the IO challenge and I don't even know what to look for specifically.

is there a problem with the servers ??

when i loot Dusklight shards, it counts in the challenges but i don't get anything in my inventory, same thing for loot caches
 
Are timers in Nightfalls here to stay?

Because if so this was the last one I did.

We made it on our 3rd attempt, but it was not fun. At all.

Like the Osiris DLC having Mercury as a new patrol zone, I guess each DLC will have a new area to patrol, either being a new destination or added like the Plagueland was to the Old Russia with RoI.

I'm curious what the free updates will contain. Maybe just new rewards for exiting activities, and nothing more than Sparrow Racing? Really curious tbh.
 
Got two exotics from the Nightfall (Synthoceps gauntlets for my titan and the Skyburner's Oath scout rifle).

Yeah I'm not a fan of it either, took four tries and we got it done with 20 seconds to spare.

Did they say how often the free updates will happen? I'd love it if they added new activities with them like an Archon's Forge for D2. Though I know it's more of a fit for the DLC than a free update.

They are here to stay and with different modifiers for how to gain time back.

Prestige Nightfall gives less time to begin with and locks your loadout.

If you go to Cayde-6 you can buy a token that will give you a 4 hour buff that allows you to see those chests with visible icons from a certain distance. Helps.

Unfortunately Cayde for this week only has EDZ stuff lol.

I'm at 2/3 I don't even know if the lost sector chest counts for it.

edit - nm, I"ll have to look again. Apparently it's just any chest in a vex/cabal area. I'll check again when I stop getting these baboon errors every 20 seconds.

will regular, substantial free activities actually happen with activision in the back?
 
It really pays to wait on picking up some of your rewards from quest givers. Grinded all the way to 260 and then picked up a whole lot of exotic and legendary engrams from NPCs. Immediately bumped me up to 274. Looking pretty good now. My two highest weapons are hand cannons so I'm stuck with them for both my kinetic and energy weapons. If only I could duel wield in this game.
