Despite most high level activities not being worth doing until tomorrow when pinnacles get buffed I got a good deal done today. Just got the Edgewise and Randy's Throwing Knife. Also completed 3 of the 4 Iron Banner bounties but haven't turned in (for obvious reasons). I really want to get some Scourge of the Past and Crown of Sorrow raid runs going, Scourge I want the Anarchy and Crown of Sorrow I've legit never done so it has a whole loot table I'm missing.

Where are PS4 folks? Does everyone play solo on console now a days? This end game blows without players to play with. This is forever 950 with no incentive to keep playing. All good gear is locked behind fire team activities, since all you get from prime engrams are shit roles. Exotic drops appear to have come to a stop again and armor is worthless in endgame since they don’t have the buff slot. Things like hard light could have an actual use if you could equip the barrier mods, but nope can’t think that far ahead. Our break the game team couldn’t even recognize that the artifact was Skorri’s all aver again but exponentially worse. Love playing, but it’s getting harder to log on.

Lucky for me I had skipped all the annual pass stuff starting with the forges, so along with Shadowkeep I've been catching up on forge and menagerie stuff, so its felt like a glut of content.

But personally I'm not that stressed about working past 950. My goals are basically to get most of the exotics, get all three classes to 950, run some raids a few times, and then drop off a bit with checking in once a week or so to see if there's a new content drop until next season. My days of grinding for a +2 LL increase that doesn't really do much for you except run harder versions of the same content are long gone.

Vex Final Offensive is underwhelming. Just a boss swap for now. Music is cool tho. I’m almost done with the Undying title.

been busy and still didn’t finish the raid and dungeon.

the season of the undying content was.... ok.

Separate from Shadowkeep, the undying content has some great legendary weapons. I think they’re all exceptional. Optative is arguably the best new hand canon on consoles, and both the pulse and scout can come with some solid rolls too. Just got decent rolls of the two battle pass legendaries last night in vex offensive finally. Those feel tight as well with the right rolls of course

The Vex Offensive activity? The invasions on the moon are a bit more interesting than the activity Itself but the loot generosity was a nice change of pace. Will it suck to see it go away? Nope. It’s ran its course... The moon public events are cool but Altars of Sorrow fills that escalation protocol roll.

Overall with The Shadowkeep expansion launch, the season was pretty solid.

There’s possibility of another weapon quest because No Time to Explain is a leaked exotic and we still have one hidden in the weapons database but the traces of that maybe be for next season.

I’m also pretty sure I’ve only seen and played one of the two new strikes added with Shadowkeep. Someday it’ll come up I guess (could be this weeks nightfall - haven’t looked).

I have higher expectations for the next season, supposedly launching December 10th. It has to be a bit more loaded than undying as that was given away for free with the voucher for Shadowkeep... and all the other stuff bungie launched recently.

I'm at 955 gear score now (before artifact bonus, which is at 20), I got Hush, Wendigo and Loaded Question. Haven't tried the final vex assault because I need to finish all my weekly pinnacles on 3 chars but I hear it's the same shit as before simply with a new boss. Did they say there's any real community reward for killing it enough times? Struggled this week with getting 100k on the 950 Nightfall because we'd tend to hit it then die on the boss battle and watch the score begin to dwindle, finally tonight did it at 980 and though harder you get a score high enough it doesn't sink below 100k by the end. I'm up for farming it so if anyone thinks the 980 is too hard I can show you some tricks. After all, 1 Ascendant shard doesn't do crap for me, lol.

Pit of Heresy is still probably my favorite pinnacle activity but I still haven't tried the new Raid, mostly because the things that stress me out are amplified in 6 man teams that require team communication, I can handle it in a raid that I know in and out but it's always tough getting into one new. It'd be great to get a chill group together like 6 PC clan members at some point. Plus I want the Divinity exotic at some point! Finished my catalyst on Vigilance Wing and I'm one gun forged from getting a Jotunn. Haven't really been posting elsewhere on Gaf due to the level with which Destiny has been occupying my time.

I’m now on the field prep train. Got a Eris’ 110 handcanon rolled with field prep, opening shot, stabilized mag or whatever it is and solid barrel options. Field prep is a quicker reload than outlaw and you can use it on demand. This might be the god roll for pvp as it shoots do damn well. Just got to put it to work. I wonder how it’ll go with divebomb titan.

I’ve been running a grave robber/explosive rounds roll in pve for a vitand it pairs well with middle tree solar titan with the throwing hammer (because a kill procs grave robber and just meshes really well). And that solar subclass is getting a pretty substantial rework/buff next season as well; so that’s even better

so I’ve had a lot of experience with gun, chasing various rolls and feeling them out. Most will tell you to chase it for multi-killclip but no one can convince me multikillclip isn’t shit and way too context sensitive.

110s are underappreciated... on console at least.

I gotta say the final fight of the new Raid is a real chore. It's just too easy to mess up the line mechanic, two nights in a row spent hours trying to kill this fuck and we never get to a second damage phase, there will be too many deaths requiring res tokens, we'll miss damage phases because we don't break the symbol fast enough and on and on. It's probably the most cancerous final boss since Spire of Stars which I think I've only had the patience to beat twice.

There is a triumph for solo'ing the dungeon but I'd wait till you're experienced. I'm at 14 clears on the dungeon and don't feel ready to solo it.

Yeah and on the flipside it feels good going into IB at 978 power level and watching peoples supers not kill me lol.

And yes, Jade Rabbit is amazing for chasing Randy's, it was even better when Momentum was going.

The reveal for season happens next week on twitch.

Some speculation... it may be vex themed again. It looks like it will be set on Mercury And feature time travel shenanigans. Heavily rumored that Trials will be making its return as well.

Just learned that Vex aren’t the robot frames we see in game. They are actually the white fluid we see, the vex milk.

Saint 14 is expected to make his debut soon. And if time travel is in play then it’s possible it will be next season. He is after all listed in imdb for shadow keep as a voice character.

the perfect paradox shotgun from curse of Osiris... the lore behind it is that Saint4 returns it back to us on his deathbed but he was gifted it by us in at an earlier time in his life and he promised to return it. That’s expected to happen. Some terminator stuff...

I am expecting the seasons to revisit curse of Osiris, Rasputin (as teased) and the other annual pass characters and locations. The original vidoc reveal teased Rasputin but I think it will feature both year 1 dlc locations. Hopefully it will be coupled with further QoL updates to those locations and their activities/loot tables.

Because I just wanted to chime in and comment that the Apostate Sniper from the Altars of Sorrow activity on the moon has crept in to take the top spot for best pvp sniper.

It’s so good it’s like it’s broken. And I think it is. Enjoy it while it lasts

I thought I played a good amount and then was completely outclassed by these two brits I met on lfg using bungie’s app (which is great). I had no idea how devastating the izanagi and divinity combo is on anti barrier champions. It one shots them. One player procs Divinity with its laser crit spot and another shoots at the crit with a 4x stack inazagi charged shot and just obliterates them. 100k nightfall would’ve been impossible otherwise. That and hearing them talk about how they did the raid on three characters.... I need to get out of pvp, it feels like early D1 again — must raid or no power.

not really. you can still lvl up beyond 950 without doing raids. it just take longer since the raid stuff is part of the couple chances of getting higher lvl gear every week. it'll take you longer to get higher lvl but you'll get there eventually if you keep doing the stuff that give you pinnacle gear.

edit: also, ask one of the admins of the Destiny Discord to invite you into the channel. you'll find plenty of ppl to help with stuff be it on PS4 or Steam.

Nah you can’t really increase power over 950 gear score without raiding. There’s iron banner, nightfalls and master nightmare hunts ... sure... but it’s raiding that really does it.

They hurt the casual crowd by culling their power gains with bullshit activities But it’s leading towards a healthier endgame player base.

There’s still work to be done, like a pvp pinnacle power gain endgame chase like trials and adding a “create lobby” function but I’ve learned to enjoy the direction.

say what you want about being “forever 29” in vanilla D1 but it kept you raiding. D2’s start and current state is a great example as to why developers should completely ignore casual complaints because fuck those jabronies... they’re not your fan base... it’s just resetera/old gaf bitching from garbage players and nintendrones. Thankfully they’ve been proven completely wrong.

Observations from trailer:

They reworked Mercury completely. There will be a good amount of free content for the season aside from the free track on the battle pass. The story content will be free as will missions/activities in four unknown locations. The loot table and sundial activity will not however. Makes sense tho because you can tell they actually rebuilt Mercury for the base game. It’s also cabal focused.



And Saint 14 seems to also be narrating ... crucible... trials!?

Things would be better if folks realized that the bad practices were almost all bungies own decisions from the go.

As far as the reveal? It was a lot of nothing, it’s basically a cabal menagerie by what we saw....not impressed in the slightest with what they showed off. We saw the armor for the xp path and the cash shop armor and a lot of boring ass long range guns that didn’t look overly great for dealing with bigger ads. Should have called it Season of the Dad with it being all pulse and scout season. Or like Dibbs said in discord, Season of the Yawn.

This is going to be a long ass season without anywhere near the stuff to do Forsaken, or even a less interesting Shadowkeep offered. More boring exotic quests, seriously why can’t we have some freaking world drops again for new exotics?

I’m already sadly bought in, and made the worse choice to buy in on PC during steam sale before waiting for this lackluster reveal so I’ll at least try the stuff for two weeks until I’ve done everything and wait til end of March for more content. Season Pass is not the way to go with this game.

A week before Thanksgiving I downloaded Destiny 2 on Steam. When I returned from the holiday I found that my account was permanently banned with no reason given.

I posted on the Bungie help forum for at least clarification. Most replies were just a polite shrugging of shoulders, and some accused me of cheating. I find this attitude to be outrageous, frankly.

I don’t use cheat programs, bots, etc. I use Reshade and FRAPS but I didn’t set up Reshade for the game and the game just blocked FRAPS. I look on the forums and other people complain about this and get the same responses as me.

Am I just one of the unlucky ones? Will this issue come to a head with Bungie? I have no idea why I was banned and it’s just assumed I am a dirty cheater :/

They announced that there will be ritual weapons for gambit, vanguard and crucible.

they tookout another four crucible maps but brought back the four they took out last season. That in addition to another d1 map.

You can also see year 2 version of the Curse of Osiris pulse and energy handcanon. Seems like they actually refreshed some older loot tables.

I haven't been trying to get Undying, feels like a worthless grind to get a seal everyone has. I mean do I want to kill all the enemies I can with bows and fusion rifles and hope I get a team that actually tries to kill the boss quick? Not really. I did however grind the guns until I got curated rolls.

It is my first, so I'm not bothered by it being common.
I'm surprised you ditched it but fun fact: not all the seasonal triumphs are required for the seal. They excluded the Timed, Flawless & Precise Assault triumphs. There were still a bunch of annoying &/ grindy things, though.

Finally beat the raid this morning. Probably easiest raid in D2, most enjoyable as well IMO.

I’ve gotten some awesome rolls on my weapon drops too. All I wanted was the handcanon and sniper and thankfully got both in this last run. Also got the shotty and bow. What else is left? Auto and pulse??

If you buy SK you get Season of the Undying, they are tied together more or less. If you buy SK later it will just be the SK expansion I believe and you'll have to buy SOD. It's shady..buts that the new Bungie for ya.

I thought I completed the undying title. I had 13 of the 14 completed but apparently the triumph requires completing everything? Including a quick boss burn. No fucking way I can grind out the last 5 power lvls on the artifact in 24hrs either. Fuck that title.

whatever ... I got my godroll optative in the first week vex offensive dropped, with accurized rounds, rapid hit and kill clip (and never saw it again after I farmed it like 50x). Best 180 in the game for sure.

need some more time with Ancient Gospel. my current drop is solid but I doubt it’s as good as my Austringer with Eye of the Storm/Rangefinder... which is my go to in survival.

STILL no Monte Carlo. Sucks since that was my first ever D1 exotic. Took it thru Vault of Glass no less. Bastards

Noticed there’s finally *new* iron banner weapons shown in the roadmap photo. Ritual weapons for gambit, vanguard and crucible also coming. AND ... it looks like the curse of Osiris forge weapons are getting updated as they were shown in the vidoc.

a good amount of content it seems actually.

take note of the little icons on the bottom left corner of each activity on the right side as well. The regular destiny logo Means that content is for all users.

I’d also expect a new Whisper/Zero hour raid-lite mission to be a surprise drop this season. That would also be free If going based on previous trends but that stuff is kept as a surprise drop.

Empyrean Foundation is curious... I’d assume It’ll be similar to tribute hall... but that was kinda the precursor to the current battle pass system so I dunno...
