Destiny 2, who is buying it?

Might buy it on PC. Depends on the console launch and content situation after that. Content was the main reason me and my 2 friends quit Destiny 1, so it's a major factor for me when deciding whether or not to purchase the sequel.

I've played mostly the PVE side solo during the 611 hours spent on the game, and I found Nightstalker better for survival than any other class. It was also the only class, which enabled me to keep the Hive swarm that occasionally emerge from the Dreadnaught caves at bay by myself.
 
Played the original on PS4 but gave up because of no match making on most end game content.

Will buy on PC but hope the handling of match making on end game content is improved or cant see me putting heaps of hours into it.
 
Most definitely grabbing a copy for PC, only reason i did not play as much on PS4 is that most of my friends are pc gamers.

4K@60 with a KBM is gonna be sweet to.

...but it was also the agility of the Hunters in general, that worked well for me. I can't remember how many times I died due to the Warlock's slow glide, and getting stuck somewhere in the process. The lack of mobility in the beta is one of the main reasons for why I won't be buying the game.

The Nightstalker's super, grenades and melee smoke were great for keeping enemies at bay, when soloing the PVE side.
 
I decided to stick with my pre-order. I felt the changes to PvP were positive, the larger variety of enemy types made PvE potentially intriguing and the game modes were great over all. Also the story mission was actually kind of Halo epic etc for Cayde's weird jump fade thingie. So yeah I guess I'll beat the story mode etc.
 
It's my goto social shooter with the bros. Even if D2 isn't setting the world on fire with innovation or fixing all the issues the game has its still a great way to waste some hours virtually socialising
 
Pre-ordered the extortionate edition on PSN. No regrets for something I know I'll play for hundreds of hours. <3

Enjoyed what I've played of the beta (TWAB addressed a couple of the glaring problems I saw) but I'll save the rest for launch.

There's been a plenty of people to play the PVE content with even after TTK and ROI. I can still easily find players for the weekly strikes. Dunno about the raids personally, as I really don't like to play them that much, but to my knowledge Gaf's Destiny community has been pretty active with raiding until the last spring update.

The post-TTK experience has also been far more convenient, when it comes to getting exotic gear and levelling up, compared to the first year.

Pretty much this, and Anthem has proven to me that open exploration in a Destiny-like game CAN happen, which is everything I wanted from D2 but didn't get. Exploration is my primary reason for playing RPGs and MMOs, and the reason I quit D1 before the first expansion and never went back.

I'm buying two copies, one each for my son and me. We recently started playing the original together and we're having a ball. I'm looking forward to continuing the journey with him.

Playing with friends is the fun part about every co-op game, but the difference is, most co-op games are complete at launch. That sadly was not the case with Destiny and isn't the case with Destiny 2.

I'm not gonna play solo. i have friends to play it with. we just don't want to spend 120$+ on this game. We can get it for $30 when the complete edition arrives.

I really hope the PC version isn't a mess. I wouldn't mind getting it on PS4 but would like to play at 1440p 60fps with a keyboard/mouse.
 
Will buy it. Have arround 1500 hours in Destiny 1 and the game gave me alot of great moments with friends and alone. Played the beta and overall its the same Destiny i fell in love with and cant wait to jump in again with everybody in september.

I enjoyed Destiny but I felt like it wasn't the game it sold itself to me as - I hoped that Destiny 2 was going to finally deliver that 'promise'.

The beta made me feel like it was Destiny 1 with better fire and water effects.
I'm not writing this to troll the fans - if you love the game, that's awesome, genuinely I hope you have fun.
The thing that really gets me with the Destiny 2 beta is that I don't really understand why any of this couldn't have been done with Destiny 1. I didn't see anything in the beta that was so fundamental in changing the game that it could justify a whole other game release. It really could just be another expansion from what I've seen so far - maybe I'm wrong.

(FYI: In beta, I played a few matches of Control, did the Strike and obviously the opening mission)

People like me that felt they were burned because of lack of content, story and repetitive gameplay. Checking on Bungie.net I got to Level 15 before never touching it again.

Saying that i did put 150+ hours each into The Division \ Diablo 3 so there is something about the loot grind repetitive gameplay genre i like. But D1 just didn't resonate or engage with me.

Maybe i should go back to D1 and give it another shot with all the content thats now available on the Xbox One.
Oh I forgot - I can't until 2076 or something stupid like that ;)

Its a clean slate really. It now easier to bring new people in and make a PC version.
They needed a little reset really.

Same here. It's unacceptable for me to pay up to 170€ in total for the game and all of its expansions. I rather jump in when the big expansion of year 2 arrives, and possibly buy the following expansion as well. That would be about 90€ in total, if it works the same way as it did with the first one. That's far more acceptable price for me.
 
Me. Pre-ordered the Pro bundle since I've been wanting to get one anyway. A game that I spent 60+ days of my life having loads of fun playing and meeting great people from around the world is getting a sequel?? Of course I'm in and I can't wait!! :)
 
No, not buying. I played Destiny vanilla and the big DLC, don't remember the name. I got bored on both in a month.

I watched a couple of streams on Twitch, hype is nonexistant. More of the same.
 
I have the limited edition preordered.

But with anything i see so far of not much improvements of enemy reusing and empty worlds and the addition of making the PVP worse im really thinking canceling my preorder.

Gonna see if i have still my order until release.

There's a lot of people saying they like what they're saying/doing with content release this time round, ERM they're doing the exact same as last time releasing the game with a 5-6 month season pass then more paid for expansion's after that :S
 
I'm definitely buying it. Need to decide if I want to go PC or PS4.

The complaints about the beta seem odd to me since it feels almost exactly like Destiny 1 to me. I also wouldn't consider this beta to be representative of the final product when it comes to little tweaks, balances, itemization, etc. More a slice of a build in progress. Also, I'm sure Bungie hears the complaints and will at least consider them when making adjustments to subsequent builds.

same. i am still undecided on whether i should get it on PS4 or PC. preferably PC though. i will make my mind up once i've played the beta on PC.

i agree. apart from the timers on grenades/supers i feel that the gameplay feels just as good as D1. i think the guns have been improved too. my first impression was positive and movement/animations felt much smoother and refined. i also really like the sound of weapons.

the beta is based on a build of the game that is months old. bungie have already made changes to the game in more recent builds and this beta is kind of a way of getting feedback on changes they've made. for example, the timers/ammo drops have been improved and this beta obviously shows that a lot of players aren't happy with it. so on bungie's end they must feel that they made the right choice in making timers faster and giving more ammo drops.

there isn't anything wrong with it that can't be fixed. again the beta is an old build and not representative of what the game will be at launch. i'm sure that bungie will continue listening to feedback post launch and keep improving it where needed.
 
I was torn between ps4 pro and PC, but after playing the beta with friends on ps4 i just can't pass up on all the fun we'll have playing together. Probably double dip on pc at some point cuz i'm a weak man.

Glad I'm not alone on my thoughts. I suspect it's the vocal minority yelling really really loud about how "the beta is shit". Because it's absolutely not. There have been so so many garbage games that have come out. Destiny 2 will deliver more Destiny, which is either great news or "meh" news.

For me, it's great. I got enough to fill me up but not too much to burn me out.

I am buying day one on PS4 and xb1 but totally agree with this. Destiny has one of the best communities ever in a co-op/MP game. You will have no trouble finding people to help/play with you anytime, especially with DGAF or 100.io. This game is going to sell so much there will still be tons of people playing years later like D1.

yep, i just want more destiny so i'll definitely buy it. it seems they have improved a lot of things this time around so that's great.
