I'm glad I'm not the only one. Have the developers never seen a character creator in another game before?

Picked a hair style that closely resembles my own. Get in-game and discovered it had a pony tail. Ugh.

Seriously, I didn't know my guy had a tramp stamp until he bent over. We definitely need rotation in the character creator.

One thing I don't like is that the game will now disconnect you from people you were travelling with when you get to a no respawn zone. The fuck is up with that?

They're not in your fireteam. It stops people storming hard areas with 10 people.

Playing Destiny on the Vita has been great tho. I think its the only game i have played on my vita a lot on remote. Nothing else.

The pulse rifles seem to have more vertical recoil and lower rate of fire from the alpha. Mind you I am using a pretty early pulse rifle that doesn't even have the scope upgrades so maybe I just have a bad gun, what's the best pulse rifle people have found?

Just a heads up for those getting rough image quality - turn down the sharpness level on your tv to the lowest setting possible. It did wonders for me when I tried the alpha and was shocked at the horrible aliasing, shimmering and general rough look of the game. Turned out the 'neutral' sharpness setting on my panasonic tv was actually anything but. Needless to say the game looked much better after this change and the praise for the graphics in the Digital Foundry tech analysis did not seem puzzling to me anymore. One of the reasons I think this game does not go well with artificial sharpening are the large amounts of foliage and small detailed textures in the outdoor parts. I'm sure more technically knowledgeable individuals on GAF can shed more accurate insights though.

Hmmm, I'll have to check this on my tv. I have to admit I was a bit underwhelmed by the visuals. But I bought a PS4 just for the beta so this is my first PS4 gameplay experience. Maybe I was just expecting too much, but it doesn't sound like I'm the only one.

It's not actually an in-game installer. It downloads in the background even if you quit and play something else.

Explore is endless, for when you feel like just exploring or levelling up outside of story missions/strikes.

I feel the need to gush about a subtle but awesome feature I noticed last night: Auto Rifles seem to detect if you're trying to do single shots, and they adjust their rate of fire slightly to make it easier. Whoever at Bungie thought of this has my eternal gratitude.

Have not tried to PvP on vita. I'll give it a shot after work.

I played main story, and the boss event on remote play. I had fun while i was playing it on the Vita tho. It doesn't beat the 1080 on 50" screen TV. But its better than not playing the game. lol

When talking to a friend, I described Destiny as Borderlands deciding not to be a slacker any more, going back to college and taking a bunch of classes from Professor Halo, and ultimately winding up with a good job and a family. I love Borderlands, but this feels like a lot of the same core ideas being executed with a lot more care and forethought.

My first and only green weapon so far is the Psi Tempus III Pulse Rifle and I am not a fan, maybe there are better ones but I still very much prefer an Auto Rifle.

Ehh I've made plenty of time for people recently. For me playing destiny (or any other game) with buddies is more fun than sitting around at a bar/party with other buddies

hahaha...I thought he was alright in the first one, but they cranked him up to 11 in the second one.

One thing is that Borderlands definitely has more breathing room so far. Destiny has what I'd considered crafted encounters though, rather than the sort of 'fuck it just toss shit in there' design of BL2. On hard, anything can be a challenge. Well, unless you're a hunter.

There are always 5+ other people outside my fireteam when I spawn into the area. Then it's instanced for just my fireteam when we go into the darkness zones.
