EDIT: Also, would I need PS+ for all the online content on PS3? Can't seem to find a clear answer. That's definitely a deciding factor as to wether I cave.

There isn't an online-enabled game on PS3 that requires PS+ to access multiplayer. Don't think that policy would change for Destiny.

I have both. Briefly considered doing the PS3 version, but I already subscribe to Plus, and I dont like the blurries.

I've preordered other games before this way and they've never put a game aside. They always just pick a game out of the locked cage when I've come to pick it up. It never worried me before but destiny seems to have ridiculous hype so I'm a little worried I might get screwed here by best buy not holding copies.
