I've gotten exactly one exotic drop, ever. Half dozen or so Nightfalls, (almost) three raid runs. I enjoy the weekly strikes/Nightfalls, but I've long since calibrated my expectations to "hosed".

I have a suspicion (anecdote really), no proof, that your chance of Exotic goes up with Light Level. I hit light level 30 the day before the new DLC released and then didn't hit Level 32 until a week or two ago. I have essentially only been max level for a little over a week now since the game released. In the previous 4 months I had only 4 exotic drops in all Nightfall and Raid drops. In just the last 2 weeks or so I have 7 plus the Husk of the Pit. Kind of crazy but things are on a roll now.

It's always anecdotal really : RNG is RNG, any singular experience means little; Ten people could flip a coin ten times and one could get all heads, another all tails, etc. It's all.... Random.

You have to kill Crota's Enrage Oversoul with Ediolon Ally to get it.

So uhh is the Crota fight just ridiculous now or what? Is there a real strategy? It seems far over the top for the rewards that you get. If what I'm seeing now is any indication then it really isn't worth doing at all.

Never see that weapon drop for me, what make the fatebringer so special?

It's not just about the perfect composition of perks, but the fact that it is a Legendary with elemental damage, which also allows you to use an Exotic in the Special or Heavy Weapons slot. Once you have it and upgrade it fully, you'll "get it." I started out with AR's and then Scouts. The Fatebringer completely changed my play style. I have a hard time going back to AR's and my scouts now have to have high impact.

'cause grinding for a husk, grinding 500 hive kills, grinding a tedious bounty system, grinding the weapon and beating the hardest and most ridiculous boss in the game isn't enough for a weapon that will be more than likely mediocre.

Coincidentally I'm pretty sure not a single team has killed an enrage oversoul.
Same with Gatekeeper I'm guessing. Well killed one and Crota in the same run.

Been watching a few videos on HM. Seen a couple of viable strats already. Most just ignore boomers, or maybe kill one on each side.

Titans are indespensible with any strat. Two is probably the bare minimum. Can probably be done without them, but would be much harder.

The new center strat replaces going down below with sitting on the ledge outside the starting room. It only gets tricky when Ogre's come out but a few well placed Bubbles takes care of that. Also have to deal with the spawn thralls when retreating back to the start area.

Yesterday I got the raid chest I needed to hit 32.
Then I fully unlocked it with bounty grinding.
Thought to be 3 shards away I found 2 on my Hunter.

What I'm saying : If anyone has any Crota Normal CP, or say wants to do just the first part or something with me please let me know. Ps4 notjaded
