Destiny |OT36| Fifty Shades of TTK

I absolutely LOVE the Xbox Elite Controller. I remapped all of my buttons for Halo 5 to match Destiny's Jumper scheme and it's fantastic. I love being able to put any button to wherever I want.

I just don't know what to put on the hair trigger yet, even for Destiny.

Ps4 needs a dualshock elite controller badly.

The hard part is when you're in the menu or dashboard you have to remember to switch back to normal button layout then back to remapped layout, over and over. But it's worth it.

No one plays this game anymore.

Sorry about that guys... my daughter is passed out next to me.

Good run all things considered.

Family Aggro is a real thing.
Yep, too bad the drops weren't better. My hunter is my secondary so sorry about the deaths and slower pace, but good run overall and thanks again.

Getting a 292 Ghost as a reward was pretty sad, especially since I saw someone get a 308 ghost earlier tonight. Oh well, there's always next week.

Good run all the same.

How can anyone want matchmaking in a raid when people who put hundreds of hours into the game can't even complete certain events without having a bunch of goofs happening.

Don't you guys think weapon parts being an actual useful resource again is a good thing? I mean, they were always useful because they're necessary to upgrade guns, but they were seemingly pointless before when everyone had over 1000 sitting around. There should at least be other ways to aquire them though. You should be able to buy stacks with glimmer.

That's wrong. Some people, sure. You'll always have people that hoards or has an a abundance of resources for whatever reason. Rerolling guns made my weapon parts go down to 0 on all 3 characters. HoW already made them scarce. Heck me along with many here farmed VoG for glimmer to buy weapons from Brother Vance just to dismantle! And repeat! (Thanks twilight) It was the fastest way to get weapon parts back then. Now we can't even do that since it's an end game one time drop.

They just don't know. "Oh somebody solo'ed Crota with a drum kit, so clearly this is easy enough for matchmade groups."

So don't use MM and people like me who constantly goof or just want to screw around can.

I wish you could just go in and practice parts of the raid and I think different kinds of MM would be good for that.

Use the modifiers to your advantage. Chain supers to counter trickle.

Airborne means you should shoot while jumping for extra damage.

Specialist favors special weapon damage. Prioritize shotguns and snipers.

You can do it with 2. One of the modifiers this week is Specialist which increases damage with special weapons, but what they don't tell you is that it decreases the damage done by primary and heavy weapons. Just make sure to use special weapons to take down the tougher enemies, then use primary/heavy for the weaker ones.

Thanks for the answers. Gonna try it again.

I need a Nightfall if you need a 3rd. PSN? If so, my PSN is OwensboroEsq

Hey sorry. Went to bed. If you want you can add me and we'll find another time :)

Anyone who wants to gimp around with me and my brother can add me :D

I think that is ultimately the issue. Many people burned through a huge stockpile of weapon parts trying to reroll HoW wespons. Many of us did not. So you have a huge group of people with hundreds of weapon parts and a huge group of people with almost none.

I've never felt limited by weapon parts. I thought Bungie should get rid of them, not because I couldn't get enough but because I always had so many that they seemed pointless due to their abundance.

Anyone else need to do nightfall? I already ran it but I'm going to help my friend. Join my party if you can: MDavis360

I won't be on mic but I think he will.

Even with lfg and dgaf, you'll occasionally run into a raid group that has 1 person insisting their method is the best method. Even though it usually depends on the groups makeup to determine what the best method is.

A completely random group thrown together is a recipe for disaster. I'd like them to test it for 1 week for VoG Normal and Crota Normal. It would be interesting to get people's feedback and see how it fairs.

Exactly. And to add to that, there are people who used a bunch to level up their factions when TTK released, prior to the weapon part nerf.

I eventually dismantled every CE gun other than Black Hammer, mostly because I needed weapon parts. Sad days.

I didn't really reroll anything before. I started TTK with about 300 and did a lot of incremental infusion because I thought I'd never run out. I did after a while but accumulating more wasn't really an issue before the nerf. If you only raid and do pvp your inflow of weapon parts will be practically nothing.

This times a lot of numbers.

I am that one person that fails the team every freaking time when it comes to the jumping ships... there is always that one ship that eludes me. I cannot imagine a group of randoms.

This is exactly my problem. And now the raid is rng on top of rng on top of rng so most things you get you use to Infuse.

It shouldn't take weapon parts to Infuse a weapon to another weapon. You're ONLY taking part of a weapons power, none of its perks or attributes of any kind. And you're losing the actual weapon and losing BOTH the legendary marks and Weapon Parts you could have gotten for dismantling it. Infusing a legendary with another legendary shouldn't cost legendary marks, period.

If you could also swap a perk for the weapon that's being used as the fodder, then it would make sense to use weapon parts.

It just wouldn't be an issue if they didn't mess with the weapon part nerf.

Alternative ending: I finally conquered Fear’s Embrace with someone, forgot the name, from NeoGAF. I think he was British. The next day a highly rated /r/DestinyTheGame reddit post offered a solution to Fear’s Embrace. The TLDR: Stand still, enemies tend to shoot where you are heading, it gets dicey at times, but it works.

great read! :) failed that "end of the page" thing though :D

and yeah, in Fear's Embrace you can just stay behind a pile of pipes where you only need to dodge the homing attack, otherwise youre pretty safe :D

Did Bungie/Activision just do a take backsie on the upcoming free dlc and now saying mts and dlc are selling very well so they're gonna go ahead and keep on charging for dlc?

I thought it was a confirmed thing hence microtransactions i already hear people defending Bungie claiming free dlc meant stuff like this halloween stuff but surely we cant all be so naive can we.Im just freaking confused and pissed i thought we were finally getting a break shit i even bought silver thinking it was paying off in the long run.

It's unknown at this point. Jschriers sources said there was no paid dlc planned between here and Destiny 2, so the assumption is that only an expansion like TTK will be paid.

Had one of those rare Destiny dreams the other day. It was about a quest that let you put elemental damage on any primary.

A stone fragment dropped from the Raid and you'd give it to Eris. She'd tell you its purpose and then you'd visit Xur, who'd send you on a lengthy 12 step quest getting ability kills across the game with each element similar to how you do for the exotic sword. There were steps involving bosses with each respective element as well (kill Prison of Elders bosses only using a specific element) and one where you played a special mission for each element where the enemies were super charged and you have to kill all of them without taking damage from them. (e.g. If you're doing the Void element, all of the enemies do void burn damage; basically the Black Spindle mission.) Long story short, it was hard as fuck.

At the end of it, you had to give Xur a whole bunch of shit and then he'd send you on the final step - you fight a "darkness infused" version of yourself. And apparently, your shadow has really good auto aim.

So once you finally beat that, you get an Exotic Elemental Stone and you can charge any kinetic primary with it, but you can only do it 3 times - once with each element. So... choose wisely.

I'll give you three guesses which gun I infused with what element first.
No, it's not the one you're thinking of
