I just thought of something - if a raid clears all monitors and kills the final boss, their friends can join and loot the extra chest at the end for the 5 minutes the game will leave the fireteam in the boss room. I think. So if you have friends who are higher light than you and clear the raid, maybe one of them can bring you in at the end to start the quest.

We had 2 guys drop at Aksis before we could beat him. 2 new guys came in, we beat Aksis and all 6 of us (4 orig, 2 new) all got the loot and the quest update for the SIVA engine.
Oh yeah we do! Getting there slowly but surely. At 357 right now with a god roll The Swarm. We will farm the heck of this raid soon enough. Good night!
tfw when you haven't even completed the raid but everyone is running around with 390 pulse rifles from it and several dozen completions 
Against all odds I am off from work this Friday, so god willing I will finally get to beat the raid then lol. If it's as farmable as people are saying now maybe I can get carried 3 times ;D. It's weird that the pulse rifle is given to you as high as it is though, it implies it should be a HM thing but it's not. At the same time LL isn't actually capped at 385 right now anyway so I have no idea what Bungie's thought process even is regarding how LL works now. The whole super grindy aspect of it is weird considering it's only only penalizing "casual" players, the hardcore are all in the 380s already anyway. It doesn't really bother me, but I'm honestly curious what the thought process was behind everything.

Question: Twice now I have noticed a +1 LL bump when I have infused an item in the last week. One of my friends has seen it happen to one of his items but another has not. Has this been discussed anywhere? Is there a trigger to making this happen or is it completely random? Or even just a glitch?
I know that the most recent time it happened to me was when I was infusing a Legendary into a Legendary and I think that was the case the other time too but not 100% sure.

It's happened here a few times. There's more than likely a decimal and rounding involved.

The Light Level isn't actually 365. It would be 365.3333 or something similar.
It explains the peculiarities with the previous LL system and why calculators were consistently off. The new 1:1 infusion would solve the issue aside from a few edge cases which is what we're seeing.

But if I am infusing a 365.3333 into my 358, the item should be 365.3333 LL and not 366.
In your scenario, the only explanation that makes sense would be a 365.6667 gets rounded down on initial rolls but rounded normally on infusion checks. Has anyone said that or is it just speculation?

For anyone who got blitzed to death in last weeks nightfall due to arc burn, this weeks is a lot easier - the big shank strike, no burn just small arms + modifier and no radar. Cleared in 15 minutes with a group of 360s, I dunno if they nerfed the warsat bit or not cuz I remember it being way, way harder back in TTK but maybe just new gear makes it easier. Everyone in the group got +4-6 purple armor upgrade so not a bad source of (tiny) LL leveling.

It would be hard (the enemies at the end of the raid are 380 light), but not impossible. If all else fails, you can hop on for Omnigul farming with two gaffers and hit 365 in 1-2 hours.

Finally finished the Thorn quest today. Ironically I have no desire to go back into the crucible any time soon after doing the void kills step.
How is Thorn in crucible nowadays? I'm guessing not very good since I have yet to get killed by it since coming back to the game.

Also anyone having server problems? Getting occasional Contacting Destiny Server messages with me being unable to do any item or inventory management while it's doing it. It's also only doing it in orbit it seems like, but I've doublechecked my internet and connection and everything seems okay on my end.
I think the Suros from the arms dealer is good, the one with auto fire
