And yet it's still the most interesting Assassins Creed from an assassination point of view. Instead of expanding upon this and making the assassinations in the sequel more open/better Ubisoft just decided to make everyone fill more bars. FUN!

Yes, the best thing about Assassin's Creed 1 is that it actually executes on the concept of being an assassin better than any following game in the series. And the Abstergo sub-plot stuff wasn't as absolutely insufferable as it became in sequels, either.

BRB guys, gonna got to all the Dynasty Warriors/Musou threads and tell everyone that they were duped by Tecmo-Koei into buying a bunch of terrible 7/10 games. Maybe it's not too late to save those poor souls from their delusions of enjoyment...

Not necessary, and this is a disingenuous comparison for a variety of reasons.

Just tell the people judging your tastes to fuck off. If you're enjoying the game, their opinion on your opinion doesn't matter.

Both games are solid 9/10 for me.

The difference is that Destiny will grow to epicness due the living world that will be expanded more and more.

I don't think many people are criticizing the missions for their layout:

Start mission, do mission, mission ends, story bit ends FIND OUT MORE IN THE DLC!

They're also very repetitive with the same layout: kill horde or protect.

Jarate's Mario Drinking Game

1. Drink Everytime you have to jump on a goomba

2. Chug if you have to go through a pipe

3. Die of alchohol poisoning before you get to 2-1

1. You can avoid every single goomba in Mario Bross. Each and every one.

2. When you are controlling Mario, you can also avoid all pipes.

3. Unlike the scenarios in the other drinking game, these aren't annoying.

I typically come off very negative on everything here, but I do honestly like Destiny. I think this will be one of the few (hyped) games that settles around what it deserves as far as review averages go.

I like it too...but its the internet. Everything is either great or awful. Destiny has a mix of both, from my experience.

I've already come up with some names for the Halo MCC Ot

Halo MCC |OT| The best Bungie game of the year.

I do wonder how much of this angst is from leftover Bungie went PS exclusive content and marketing salt that has perpetuated forums and social media for so many months.

One of the worst years in gaming ever:

Watch_Dogs... bland and lackluster.
Titanfall... never quite became the next big thing.
Destiny... overproduced missed opportunity.

Witcher 3, Arkham Knight delayed 2015.

Most anticipated current-gen game is a remake of last year's most anticipated game.
Those are the good games. Check out the scores for Sims 4 and NHL 15.

Don't forget that those dropping early reviews, especially reviews that might appear controversial, can also be doing it for increased web traffic and hits.

It's all part of the game.

-A score lower than 7 is a joke score. Seriously.

-The shooting mechanics are very solid.

-I agree with most of the (good) posts I've read so far : this game lacks variety. They promised an awesome game full of wonder and right now, it's a very solid FPS, with a a great MP and were all the wonders ?

-I don't know why, even with all faults this game is pretty addictive (maybe because we are playing this game in group ?!)

Basically yeah. I like AC1 quite a bit though and prefer Altair over Ezio so needless to say my opinion don't jive with the majority :P

Oh fuck, I am definitely taking advantage of that. If I can make it out of Destiny with only a $20 loss I suppose I'll be pretty happy.

It's why I'm not even that mad at how disappointing the game is. I'll finish the story, play a bit more PvP and then trade it in like a week or two.

I would be very pissed if I bought the digital version tho.

Probably using that $40 credit on Diablo 3.

have you played any of these games?

because they are all pretty good. Not every game is a Citizen Kane moment.

I feel like chasing review scores and records is fucking crushing out industry.

technically, everyone is late with their reviews since most game reviews go out on launch day.

So, what do you do when every review is late?

PvE sucks but am really enjoying crucible, it's so good. Better than Halo 4s competitive MP at least. They just need to add late join, remove the LVL 5 limit and make it accessible from the main menu.

I just don't understand why they had to make this a loot game with MMO elements. Just make it a straight shooter like Halo with like 10 carefully designed levels and a proper story. Boredomlands sucked, why try to borrow from it?

If anything the "angst" is coming from Halo and Bungie fans disappointed that this new direction amounted to something that doesn't live up to what Bungie is great at.

Keep pushing your anti-Halo/Titanfall agenda, Nib. There's probably still a few people that haven't caught on to what you're doing yet.

They've been playing the game for 4 days now so I think that early period has come and gone.

It kind of annoys me how some people are acting like the ones in here (like me) who are being negative are just purely hating on the game. It's simply not true. What frustrates me about Destiny is that it has a FANTASTIC foundation. I LOVE the sci-fi setting, I LOVE that it takes place in our solar system, I LOVE the gunplay, I LOVE the art direction, but it's just a sliver of what it could be and it isn't. I know eventually the game will be closer to what it deserves, but the game - the $60 base game - should have included way more areas. Like, at least twice the playable explorable areas. It wouldn't have even needed to be different planets necessarily (though I'd love that); it could just be some more areas on Earth. More COULD come eventually, but it will almost assuredly be paid DLC. For $60, four areas is paltry.

Mario Kart 8 + DLC, 2014 saved.

This game is not Halo

it will never be Halo

This is Destiny
