Destiny: Rise of Iron Launches September 20th (PS4/XB1), lots of details leak

watch the plaguelands be an old area......skinned differently and add some snow on top lol

dear god I hope their not that bad!

If they set it up properly, it wouldn't be that bad. It worked with House of Wolves with the reverse maps and different enemies, so they could recreate that.

I agree that Bungie needs to over-deliver in the same way they did with TTK.
That expansion got me playing nothing but Destiny again for 2 months straight.
Hope that leak of features is not the total of content.

Destiny will have some fierce competition this Fall. FF15 10 days afterwards and October has Gears and BF 1. It will be nice timing though for everything else.

No Man's Sky -> Deus Ex -> Destiny -> Final Fantasy 15 -> Battlefield 1 -> Titanfall 2 -> CoD: Infinite Warfare -> Watch_Dogs 2

Man

Another 3rd Person shooter heavy Fall once again

Maybe thats why so many other games get pushed to the following spring?

Can we get primaries with burns again? Cool raid weapons? Two things that felt like a big step back in TTK.
Cool raid weapons, sure but no more elemental primaries outside of exotics. You'd never use any other weapons.

It's probably why the raid weapons felt less cool in Year 2

I think that is a reason why a lot of games get pushed back. Also I'm not even counting other games that are good but I won't be getting. Gears, Dishonor 2, and others.

I'll have a week with RoI before I drop it the next week for FF15. Gonna be a nice two week vacation.

It is a great time to be a gamer. Make sure you enjoy your vacation!

Destiny Rise of Iron |OT| Hodor?

Not really, Many like to do coop gaming and team up, none of those games come remotely close to Destiny in that regard, alsp the feel of the gunplay and movement.

I can only think of maybe COD zombies has a shout even close to destiny in the coop space. The rest scratch a totally different itch.

Maybe if TF2 has a survival mode and a coop campaign. Mst of those games you list are single player orientated experiences, or known for PVP only (BF and TF).

So there is a chance the mutants might like their OG concept art? There is one with four arms, fallen maybe?

Destiny: Rise of Iron is the next highly anticipated expansion to the Destiny universe. The wall which stood for centuries along the southern border of Old Russia has collapsed. Fallen mutants now scavenge the tombs of the Golden Age, and the plague they have unearthed in the wastes is more dangerous than even they understand. Join Lord Saladin. Journey into the Plaguelands. Learn the fate of the Iron Lords and stop the growing threat before it is too late.

They felt less cool because they were crap. The no elemental primaries reason you mention, straight from Bungie, is just nonsense. Fatebringer would've been awesome even without the arc burn.

I don't know the core group of guys I play with (6 players) will drop everything for new Destiny content.

I'm really hoping Bungie finally decides to add matchmaking to the other activities. I think it's just Nightfall, raids and Prison of Elders that need it.

I would have put so much more hours into Destiny if those activities had in-game matchmaking. Whether or not the devs agree with the philosophy of matchmaking for those activities, it's a hard fact that they would see many more players playing for longer periods of time if matchmaking was in place.

Ace of Spades is essentially Fatebringer without element.

Yeah, that'll bring me back! I really only come back for Iron Banner, but even then, there's usually something I'd rather be playing. I need to work on my Light Level, though. I'm sitting at 315.

Certainly interested, but reality is I may have to wait on this one (and several others). Too much to do this fall semester and there's only so much time and money one can commit.

FFXV and Deus Ex are my must-haves, but deciding between VR, PS4K, and games, something will have to wait.

Since Saladin will be busy fighting zombies, who will direct the Iron Banner?

Even better, you could just, walk through the fucking great big hole in the wall and get outside anyway.

Still makes me laugh that they have those 3D assets you can see in the distance of most of the maps that they do absolutely nothing with.

Meh, as someone whose probably got 200-300 hours in Destiny, mostly vanilla, not really that excited. Guess I'll see what the raid is like, because I know the story is going to be awful, the strike will be something people stop running after a week, and the new area will just be recycled assets.

Its also hard to get excited because you know Destiny 2 is 6-9 months down the road, and will reset all the gear again and probably have new classes and races and stuff. I've tried logging into Destiny a few times over the past six months but just end up PVPing a few games and quitting, all my chars are light 305-310.

This looks good to me.

Bungie, every activity in this expansion requires optional matchmaking. And how about adding this content without removing any existing content in the process? That'd be good.

Bungie has yet to "hold back content". They release what they have ready when it's ready to be released.

At a certain point, though, the difference between 'withheld content' and 'content that arrives in a later update than it was planned for because it didn't get finished on time' becomes kind of a semantic one.

"new strike" - singular, sounds odd, since TTK shipped with four and remixes of several others. But a new zone and faction sounds good to me. Guessing this is called a "zone" rather than "destination" because it's set in a current destination (Earth?).

Not sure why we need a third social space, though. The Reef is neat but it has always felt redundant in functionality to the Tower; hopefully it's packed with kiosks so we don't have to hop across three social spaces.

Excited to get back into Destiny when this drops.
