Cos he's a liar?Nice, legend right there, whats his new game called again. Judas?

Immersive sims are difficult to make and considered hard to sell to wider audiences. That being said, there are major successes that could fall in the category like the Elder Scrolls and (some of the) Fallout games, and Arkane had a solid run with Dishonored 1+2 before Prey unfortunately bombed. It's interesting that there are basically no games trying to replicate the success of Elder Scrolls.genius game. never gave it a fair shot until just a few weeks ago when I started playing through it on the Steam Deck...
and now I'm mad that almost no game innthe genre since even comes close to it. Prey is the only recent game that is comparable
I dont think any rpg franchise has had as many bad sequels. Shame.
Ah yeah, Ken Levine. That's Ken Levine's.
Warren's new game is multi-player slop.
I'm sure it'll be cool an original but I sure prefer he was working on something single-player.

Genre's a rarity now though outside of a few indie releases. We'll see what Raphael Colantonio has in the works next.

It's a fucking tragedy what happened with Eidos. I really did enjoy Human Revolution and Mankind Divided and even though they created those games under the ownership of Square Enix, I don't think SE really held any reverence for the classic IPs that Eidos delivered in the past. Now with Embracer, the situation is bleak.Sadly, this license is in limbo with fucking Embracer group when they bought Eidos. They cancelled the Deus Ex the Montreal team was doing. I doubt it ever crossed their mind that there's easy cash for a remake of the first one.
I prefer they leave as is if they can't have the right peoples working on it.
Those are all classics.Look at the games (/guides) around him in the photo:
Deus Ex, Shogun Total War (first TW game), Diablo 2, Starlancer (prequel to Freelancer), Imperium Galactica 2 (US), Gunship!, Airport Tycoon, Ground Control, Star Wars Force Commander, Sim City 3000 Unlimited, Vampire The Masquerade

Mankind Divided aged really well. It's actually a lot better than the critical reception would have you believe. The areas are very detailed and there are lots of options to explore and engage with the systems. Some missions and sub missions are intertwined and you can get varying results depending on how you approach them.Great message from the man himself. Deus Ex is what PC gaming is all about, wish we had more modern takes. I have to pick up Mankind Divided one of these days, even knowing all the criticisms I had stepped away from gaming around that time and never got a chance to experience it, even though I loved Human Revolution. It couldn't hold a candle to the OG, but still an excellent game doing its own thing.
Steam sale in a few days gents.
Those games might have been fine on their own, but I don't consider any of the Square-Enix titles canon to Deus Ex any more than I do the disaster that was Invisible War. They were way off in terms of tone and presentation. They felt like a weird, French-y manga or anime, and were a total swing-and-a-miss for what's supposed to be a prequel to a game set in a gritty near-future world. Some idiot clearly didn't get the memo somewhere down the chain, and we got some sort of Appleseed thing.Mankind Divided aged really well. Looks kinda cool. But generally, all these games should have two modes; PvPvE and PCoPvE.That's Ken Levine's.

That story flatlined so hard in the second act. I needed drama dude!I met him once, right before this game came out, seemed like an ok guy and clearly passionate about it.
Prey bombing is still one of the most criminal gaming injustices to me. They did it to themselves though. The demo had all kinds of issues they ended up patching, the baffling name, buggy-ass launch.Immersive sims are difficult to make and considered hard to sell to wider audiences. The name was forced on them by Bethesda. They were making a game directly inspired by System Shock so yes, it made no sense.Prey bombing is still one of the most criminal gaming injustices to me. I know the backstory and it really sucks for them. I meant speaking from the consumer perspective. The game also had the Bethesda-typical garbage audio mix at launch. The audio in the demo was shockingly bad.The name was forced on them by Bethesda. They were making a game directly inspired by System Shock so yes, it made no sense.
Yeah, that's still so bizarre to me. I loved System Shock, and was really looking forward to 3. I dug what they were showing too.Game looks cool imo but yea, I wish it was SP.
Otherside cancelled Warren's System Shock 3 for this, that's the most rage inducing fact about all this
