Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition trailer

So since Vergil will play through both campaigns will they get rid of the gyro blades? I wonder how the bushido mechanic will work, will it require holding down the exceed trigger to charge up moves in a string?
Probably Yamato strikes charges it and hits with Beowulf moves it forward.

Or better yet they remove it from the game along with the dice puzzle game.

DMC3's boss rush isn't just the best boss rush design in the series, it's the best one of all time. Such a smart design for initial playthroughs, for unlocking the blue orb fragment, and for later playthroughs where you really know what you're best at and can style hardest on (NOT GERYON LOL).

Sucks that the chess battle is in the same chapter.

Great art too:

I can see them easily writing Vergil back into the current time canon just because he is Vergil and everybody loves Vergil.

Also I didn't see how this isn't getting a physical release. It is a bit lame seeing as DmC:DE managed to get one and was also a budget release. I'll buy it regardless but I think it is a bit weird. Especially as DMC4 was one of the best selling DMC titles and DmC was one of the worst (I think?).

Edit: Yeah DMC4 sold 3 million and DmC only sold 1.6 million. Which makes it the worse selling if you put DMC3 and DMC3SE sales together.

The easiest thing to do would be to just have the door in Mission 6 be open from the getgo. Those that want to move on can just go and those that want the dice game can play it for kicks.

Same for M19. Just let Nero go straight for the boss fights, or better yet remove the barriers between floors and let him jump to the one's he wants. That would make the mission double as a Boss Rush mode.

one thing this makes me want is battle theme playlist/customization

since I'm assuming we'll have at least 3 new battle themes for the new characters. having an option like that + previous game themes would be pretty sweet.

Put me in the camp of "Fuck the Dice game". One time, I could understand. Maybe they thought it'd be fun and it just didn't work. But then they fuck the boss rush with it! (was already fucked enough we didn't get to fight Credo again).

Can I just mention how much I love what they did with the second half of Shall Never Surrender in the first few seconds of this trailer? I almost hope it's woven into one of the character's battle themes. :lol

also devils never cry, the best song

Actually, is that Devils Never Cry or a version of Vergil's second boss theme / UMvC3 theme? In any case, it's likely his combat theme regardless of which variant of the DMC3 theme it uses.

Speaking of the boss rush, I hope they replace the Arma phase with a Credo battle - regardless of whether it makes any sense, not repeating the game's best boss when each of the others appears at least twice was a baffling decision.

I want this game so bad but I lack a PS4. Patiently waiting for a slim or price drop. If DMC5 is announced that may break me.

All of these new characters are going to have more weapons than Nero... LMAO!
Giving Nero an additional melee weapon and firearm would have to mean rejiggering the entire Proud Souls economy, but I'm cool if it happens because Proud Souls suck and DMC3 handled that aspect of things much better.

I'm just going to assume Vergil raided Dante's devil arm stash and took back Beowulf and the sparda sword which then transformed back into Force Edge because .......lol why not.

If they lower the damage on stuff like Distorted Real Impact, Pin Up etc. then I sure hope they increase Dante's overall damage output because otherwise he feels weak compared to Nero.

Definitely, that boss fight is so damn good.

I have no idea what to look for in a gaming PC lol. Those Steam sales do look nice though.

You don't really need a gaming PC. We can't predict what the required specs will be for DMC4SE, but we do know that DMC4 scaled incredibly well on PC. It could run on a toaster. And DMC4SE should be similar. It's still MT Framework.

I'm getting motivated!

Even Kamen Rider Fourze is getting motivated!!!!

Oh interesting so this game doesn't need Witcher 3 specs (I understand that game needs a pretty strong computer to play does it?) Will look into Steam now and have a controller ready to play whenever. I just hope my PC can hold a stable frame rate.

Awesome to see GAF so hyped for this! Trailer was amazing and I can't wait to drop hours upon hours into this with all the different characters. DMC is back!

Great trailer! Is there a full version of the artwork that appears at the end? for mobile, perhaps.

Is the game using a new lightning system? it looks slightly different,

Kinda bummed there isn` t a new Vergil campaig, now i look like a fool.

So no new Vergil campaign or anything? Though there is that hooded Vergil cutscene.

I am hyped. I liked DmC DE but this is something else. SE extras with (hopefully) no framedrops anymore could make this one of the best DMC ever... count me in.

If they destroy the Dice shit, and the statues/gyro I'm in heaven.

This not getting a physical release is a little disappointing. I wonder if it'll come later down the line.

I wonder if Capcom is using this and the DmC DE to gauge interest in where people want the series to go.

DmC2 isn't going to happen for a variety of reasons, but I could see them using this to see if DMC5 is worth pursuing

Worst case scenario all the avid fans pay for a full price re-release for the development cost of a new character. DMC4 still looks fantastic with everything maxed out on the PC, so it's not like they need to do a lot of work to bring it to next gen.

That's not how this is going to go down. Doing it that way would mean delaying preproduction for another 3 to 6 months after already delaying it since early last year while they were making the remasters. That means 2018 before any new Devil May Cry, 5 years after DmC and 10 years after DMC 4. Plus, DmC got a retail release and is a lot newer of a game while DMC 4 is getting digital only and is over 7 years old, DmC will probably sell better.
