Demi-Kids is known as Devil Children in Japan (I believe, obviously that name wouldn't go over so well here ;^) ), it's a more Pokemon cutesy spinoff of the Megaten series that's meant to appeal to a younger audience. Which is kinda ironic considering that's what Pokemon is to the Megaten series.
AFAIK, it's not a part of the Devil Summoner series. Just a part of the greater Megaten series.Mejilan said:

Looks awesome even though it seems isntead of full 3D enviroments we'll backgrounds ala Resident Evil or PS1 Final Fantasy.
The Shin Megami Tensei series and spinoffs are one of the best RPGs, they have great fast paced battle systems and incredibly wicked storylines and atmosphere (the beggining of SMT3 in the hospital gave me the creeps) that imo are the best in the genre.
Hopefully Atlus will bring both the PSP remake and this one. I mean Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga both sold decent enough to become sleeper hits, right?
Hopefully the recently confirmed PS3 Megaten will be a true Shin Megami Tensei not a spinoff.
