DF: Resident Evil Requiem Switch 2 Analysis: DLSS Is A Game-Changer

Hopefully all consoles get a 30/40fps mode in the future (with the two bigger consoles getting RT as well).
Looking pretty good on Switch 2 even in handheld mode.

Very impressive. It really bodes good for future titles on the Switch 2 when current gen games like this one, Outlaws and Cyberpunk can run and look that good. It's truly a huge leap compared to the Switch 1.

Still don't get why they are using FSR 1 on PS5/SX.

But the Switch version seems pretty solid. Given the the big performance drops though I think it could really use a 30fps mode that boosts the resolution, specially in portable mode.

WTF hahahaha I bought the freaking switch 2 version for crying out loud.

If they manage to iron the few frame dips on Switch, it will become a near perfect version. Really good stuff, and the console is barely 9 months old. Imagine what we'll get in a few years between the DLSS improvments and the devs becoming more experienced with it.

Nintendo is really dropping the ball first party-wise, when you see what third party are capable of doing with the system. It's the first time that nintendo feels like the gimp of their own machine compared to third party.

Bro, you should see what happened to me. Absolute snake members on this forum.

This is not aimed at the mod. Its the two users. They know who they are. Genuine liars on this forum 😂

I understand why they call them blue snakes.

Anyways, switch 2 looks amazing with DLSS. Such an incredible little device

Very impressive. Nintendo going with Nvidia was their best hardware decision, full stop. DLSS will position Switch 2 closer to its 9th gen peers than Switch 1 was ever able to achieve with its 8th gen peers.

Now we just need Nintendo to start using DLSS in their first party games instead of slapping on FSR1 and letting those sweet, sweet tensor cores just sit there parked and taking up space on the SoC.

Looks good but targeting 60 and mostly missing it was a choice.

Similarly, Series S is a flat 60 all the time and it looks like it could have done higher DRS.

Impressive for a handheld mode. Cant wait too see comparison with rog ally x. Dock mode, well of course the console is still much much better, but.of course you bought a switch 2 because of its portability and handheld mode.

Yup. I play my Switch 2 exclusively as a handheld. My dock isn't even connected to the tv anymore. Just the power and Ethernet cable.

As the Switch 2 enters the latter half of its first year, it's starting to get some pretty impressive ports and Resident Evil Requiem is no exception. In this video we're going to compare the game running on a docked Switch 2 vs a PC with the settings cranked all the way up.
The handheld version is surprisingly solid. While some textures and details don't look as good as you would get from a much larger box, the game runs at a solid 60fps with very few dips and its environments and characters look outstanding on the Switch 2's HDR screen. Leons Custom Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT looks great wherever you play.

Gameplay Captured on a docked Nintendo Switch 2 and a PC with an RTX 4090 GPU

I'm really starting to think Oliver has a very serious sight problem. I mean, don't get me wrong I'm absolutely fine with the IQ of switch 2, it's an handheld we need to be realistic. But call the DLSS phenomenal at 360p on the switch 2? When you start to move is full of ghosting trial and crafting pixels in some details even when you don't move the camera; I repeat, I'm fine with that but he disintegrated the balls for months about the PSSR artifacts and on switch 2 which is even worst, the IQ is game changer because it's an handheld and it's cheaper to buy?

Interesting how DF completely ignores the game falls apart IQ wise in motion with dlss lite from low resolution but they always do that for switch 2. it reminds me of ac shadows series had much better IQ on series s but said they were equal which was completely false. also on any other console they would call the performance terrible but on switch 2 we happy.

its the typical BS for every switch 2 comparison.

Looks like DF is evil again here… 🤣

I think it should be capped to 30fps and use a dynamic resolution to improve image quality. Maybe add a 40fps performance mode as well. It can't get anywhere close to a locked 60fps which isn't good for docked play in particular.

It's not DF evil there. It's called incoherence about someone and Oliver showed it. If you are intolerant about the TAA artifacts loving more the Nintendo hardware shouldn't make suddenly everything forgivable. I have the switch 2 and when DLSS is used below 1080p there, it make appears the PSSR the new golden standard of the upscaler.

They mention a 40 option which sounds nice. I'd go for that.

A reminder these are same people that said series s and switch 2 AC shadows were very close IQ wise. this is the ps5 version 60fps which is almost the same the series s 30fps mode. its not even close. They really hate the series s not even enough views.
