I didn't see in any thread.

Summary: there is nothing good about this demo... bad dynamic resolution scaling, bad framerate, bad IQ, etc etc etc.

On the one hand, we shouldn't judge a product that is still deep in development. On the other, it's worrying for the final product that they thought this was a good showcase for a public demo.

I think it has a lot of potential, though the demo is embarrassing from a technical point of view. The gameplay is solid, I believe in Team Ninja.

It would look bad for a PS4 game, but this is on PS5.
Looks like shit, runs like shit, it is in fact shit.
The only good thing about that is a demo.
So they can rethink a lot of thing and make it better.

If the final game is similar to the demo then well God save us.

I'm expecting improvements in the fps but damn... It looks like a PS3 Devil May Cry (graphically). They'd need to redo everything to make it look good.
It's a shame. Who are they trying to market this towards? :messenger_weary:

Exactly this. Yes, it's a demo, but it's a demo they apparently thought was good enough to release. It looks like a PS3 game (or a really bad looking PS4 game), but struggles to maintain 1080p60. And yeah, it really does look like those typical UE3 games. Grey, bloomy, awful.

There's something about it I like, even if the graphics don't improve. Well, I still play PS3/360 games so maybe that's it.

Its funny, my initial reaction was disappointment at the announcement. An Isekai is not what I wanted or imagined at all. The PS3/360 era colors and textures also do the game no favors. The f-up they had with the initial demo launch also soured me a bit but I held out. Finally played it and wasn't impressed. Being forced to play as characters I don't like at all in any way is a quick way to get me to never touch a game again.

Later on I read some comments defending the game though I took it with a grain of salt. Could be fanboys after all. I redownloaded the demo... again. I've got to say I kind of like the game's base mechanics, but on the other hand I'm still not entirely sold. If I can play as a pretty lady I'll be fine and give it a shot. Its funny to note the systems and mechanics carried over from Nioh 1&2. Both of which are awesome, but this game I feel suffers from a deluge of copied mechanics reformatted to try and fit the FF theme. Nioh at least has the occasional pretty environment, FF Origin is just completely depressing to look at. At least Nioh you can use a different skin or in two, use a custom character, which happens to look gorgeous. How they didn't use that for a game that you make your party is beyond me. For characters with absolutely no soul or depth. Why? Oh yeah, Nomura.

I hope the game is good. But like others have mentioned, who the hell is this for exactly? The hardcore? They'll want something else that is better, and the casuals won't be bothered to suffer through the difficulty. I'm guessing that's why the budget seems so low. And for Team Ninja its a quick flip-job. If I get some female characters and cool bosses, I might pick it up. As a game it has way too many systems going on at once, even more than Nioh. It has its moments for sure, and I always prefer gameplay over graphical fidelity. Even remembering that this is cross-gen on all platforms just about, it still boggles the mind how the game is so damn ugly.

Looks like gears of war one. But worse. I was going to download it. But i just glanced at it. And refrained from doing it. Probably this was canned and it was handed over to team ninja and they were told to try to savage this awful game.

I'm getting it for sure.

It's ugly, but the core gameplay is fantastic. There's also still time to change things. It wont be a 10/10 game, but it looks like something any action game fan would probably not want to miss.

I believe the point of getting out an early demo is for feedback on the gameplay, level design and stuff like that. Not to try and sell people on the game's visuals or performance.

These are things they need early feedback on to change. Graphics send performance can improve throughout. The graphics and performance don't need to be in a final polished state to get users to test and give feedback on the actual game design.

The game has a lot of potential, and Team Ninja probably had to rush things to present it in time for E3. I am confident that they will deliver a great game, as usual.

Is this even worth downloading?

The game looked pants based on what was shown during the SE show.
