Oliver seems to have only tested the first couple of sections where performance is relatively ok. It shits the bed once you reach the "open" world so it would be interesting to see if it holds there.

RE FFXVI:

So they took the combat resolution of the PS5 version and applied it everywhere on SX in the Performance mode. Locked 60 but 720p.

Bad trade off IMO, hopefully a patch fixes this soon. SX's VRR should be sufficient for 1080p even if it has the exact same drops as the PS5 version.

You would think SE would want to put out a compelling product to make the most of the 30 something million Series owners. This doesn't look like this is it.

I enjoyed the show, but MS really needs to hammer down their messaging for what's next for the brand. Yes, they are showing us stuff, but there are still so many unanswered questions for people who have stuck around in the Xbox ecosystem. Not everything should be a surprise, and this is especially true when their is broad pessimism surrounding the brand. I guess this assumes they even know what that future is.

They need to paint a picture of their future and not only meet those expectations, but exceed them.

Horrible Xbox port for FFXVI. The Series S is one thing, but no reason for the Series X to be outputting 720p in performance other than lack of effort. An update/patch is needed and deserved for those who wanted to play the game on this specific platform.

Because it comes out in the holiday season. I expect a lot more in-depth coverage to happen over the next few months. Nothing to do with "faith", we've seen how much confidence they have in it by how much they're pushing it online after the showcase, and how they allowed big tech creators to cover it literally before the show was over.

Is VRS the reason why the Xbox Series X version looks weird and low-res in graphics mode?
Textures are blurry and some objects look like they're in 360p.
The graphics mode (30fps) needs a lot of improvement.

In Frame rate Mode, the frame rate(XSX) is 10 fps higher than the PS5 version, so it makes sense that the resolution (XSX version) was lowered.
The Graphic Mode is locked at 30fps on both, so I don't understand why the image quality is so bad on the XSX version.
