There's a small FAQ which I see by going here. It lists having a subscription at some point before Oct 18 2011, being 18 or older, having a valid credit card, and living in certain areas (United States of America, Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, or Singapore).Gvaz said:

I just hope that this small/slow/pathetic beta isn't a sign that the game is far from finished. March 2012 or bust!

Yet you insult the nature of the beta which tells me you don't know anything about the game or how/why Blizzard is running the beta at all. Huge logical disconnect there.
If you do even rudimentary research you'd be able to discover that the purpose of this beta is primarily technical/network in nature, beta invites are handed out based population density/feedback needs and they are waiting for the next beta update for any major key distribution as any new feedback on the current build is likely redundant. From every report available the game is for the most part feature complete and only the rune system is yet to be locked down game systems wise; the RMAH seems to be what is holding up release of the game (And this is in the hands of third parties apparently).
More anecdotally if you watch one of the videos on diablo.incgamers.com with the lead systems and technical designers when they're asked 'Is there any one thing that's keeping a release date from being announced' while their verbal answers toe the blizzard party line, it's blatantly obvious from their expressions (These guys are clearly not PR people) that they know exactly what is holding it up.
Why are people so whiny and unable to do even basic research about games they are supposedly 'dying' to play? It's just a beta anyway; for my money there's more fun to be had with the official skill calculator!

The amount of fake Blizzard spam I've been getting has increased like 10-fold in the last month. It's driving me nuts. Would be even worse if I was expecting to get into this beta and was actually tempted to click any of them.
