wait how can people finish the entire Act 1 in 5 hours when it took me like 2,5 hours to finish the BETA which was reportedly 1 THIRD of Act 1? i didn't even explore every single nook and cranny, granted i played at a nice and slow pace maybe but still how can the difference be THAT huge?

Not only ACT 1 my friend. THE WHOLE FREAKIN GAME IN LESS THAN 5 HOURS.

Those koreans are crazy.
 
Does anyone know where it is the best place to buy this game in retail (UK)?

I'll be able to pick it up at 1:00 PM (in an hour and 15 minutes).

I've never played a game like this before. Hearing the game is 11 hours long is making me wonder how much replayability there is in these types of games. I really have no idea what this game is like.

There are some ways in co-op. Mainly using Town Portals etc to speed things up.
 
It is slowly but surely becoming one of the bes... you know what, I'll let you guys just play through it.

It just keeps getting better and better... I have no intentions of stopping anywhere soon.
 
Equipping two one-handed weapons gives you 15% extra attack speed. You alternate between the weapons every hit, so it doesn't actually average out the damage, but theoretically it does over the course of your hits. If you equip two weapons, if your higher dps weapon is more than 15% higher dps than your lower dps weapon, you are better off just equipping the single higher dps weapon and using a shield, because you would be lowering your average dps to the point that the extra 15% attack speed wouldn't compensate for it.

Someone please correct me If this is wrong

And obviously this doesn't take into account equipping weapons for bonus stats etc

So my friend went to the midnight launch in canada and it's not letting him sign in, it's requesting an american zip code and thinks his account is american.

Any ideas?
 
This is going to be a looong day. Managed to get in ~1.5 hours of play time prior to going into work. I ended up picking the Monk as my first class instead of the Witch Doctor as I wanted a start with a class that was less squishy. It also looks like they've adjusted the difficulty since the beta. It's a nice improvement as there were times when I'd get completely mobbed that never happened in any of my closed beta playthroughs. Now to kill 8 hours of time at work... o_O

The game is requesting a zip code? Or is he trying to create a battlenet account?

If he is trying to set up a battlenet account he may need to start over and make sure he picks Canada as his country. I'm in Canada and did not have a problem creating an account. Hope this helps.
 
I caved in and bought it. I haven't got a clue about all these classes, so I'll jump in blind. I hope my 2010 macbook is up to the task, however (same specs as posted above - will post update on how well it runs soon).

thinking of getting it, but i'm on a mac mini late 2009 with Intel Core 2 Duo 2.26GHz, 8GB RAM and a NVIDIA GeForce 9400M.

Any experience with this setup?

Yup, they alternate. But as a bonus for dual wielding, your attack speed is increased by 15%.

Finished Normal and played through a fair chunk of NM so far. It gets surprisingly difficult pretty early on, some stuff will just instagib you even on normal. The story is so terribad, cheesy and poorly written, especially towards late act 3 and act 4. I really think Metzen just said fuck it and outsourced it so some fanfic writer.

I wasn't paying attention and salavaged most of the gear I was wearing. I didn't even realize it would let me do that.

I just finished getting the
crown from the altar in the cemetary
and now most of my gear is gone.

I'm probably gonna have to start over aren't I because now I won't have my equipment for the Skeleton King? Is there anyway to retrieve what you salvaged?

I´ve read the same. Apparently they tried to take a dramatic turn with it half through the game but ended up with an inconclusive mess.

So, after downloading the whole game again something happened. It had already downloaded the 7.6GB and the thing wouldnt close.

The after about 10min of me just waiting anxiously(._.) it said it couldnt find DiabloStetup. ERROR!!!! FUUUUUUU....

But, all the files were there so i tried to install anyway and this way it did it. YAY!!!

Saw the intro annd got to the login screen.

But then it was 1am and I had to be up at 6, so I just went to bed.

Hopefully, will be able to play as soon as I get home.

PS - Just gonna watch some streams at work and count the minutes till Im home. :)

PS2 - Hows the difficulty on normal guys? On par with beta? More? Less?

Are you sure you salvaged the gear? Or did you sell it to the vendor.

I thought you were only able to salvage once you gave the crown to the blacksmith. Until then you can sell to vendor.

If you sold the stuff to a vendor you can go to him and try and look at the buyback tab to see if it is still there. Can't retrieve salvaged items.

But, either way I think you will be fine for the king. You still have a few dungeon levels to fight through to get to him so some decent gear should drop.

So I unlocked the portal spell and my first companion. Is there some penalty for using the portal or retraining your companion? Those both seem like things that would either had a cooldown or cost gold to do, but I'm not seeing anything.
