AS% is fucking great on Wizard. Go buy something (ring, amulet) with 11% AS or better and watch your jaw drop.
Anyway, is it fair for me to assume...

The latency shit is finally getting on my nerves, they're so clearly overloaded and are simply sitting on the problem. Since we're not pumping fees into the game maybe they don't feel like they have to, since I always had fantastic pings even when WoW was packed, but I'm sick of 300-400+ when I should be 40-50.
I think I'm more annoyed that they tried to pull an old school Verant move and blame the end user for it though. For a company that usually has pretty goddamn great customer service Blizzard is really unraveling here.

If you don't want to be like the purists, just take your time and search the AH for good gear.

That's actually really nice, make sure you don't underprice that one. Would rather overprice and lower/relist incrementally until it sells.

I could have done a bit better in Intelligence and weapon Damage. I've seen a couple of 800+ dps items on the market, I just didn't want to pay more than my artificial budget...and they didn't have the Arcane damage buff that I like.
Nice thing is, I know there is clear room for improvement. I know I can add about 100 more dps at any time if I decide to spend some of my 800,000c bank account, and my shoulders and gloves basically bring NO intelligence at all. That's 6000-7000 more dps right there between those 3. However, I won't buy any items that force backwards steps (say, sacrificing vitality for intelligence or something). It should be pretty easy from here to get those upgrades, as I know exactly what I need. But there's no rush.
I definitely expect to be close to 30,000 damage by Friday. With a little luck.

Try doing a tracert, the problem is not blizzard's servers it's some isp in the middle. I got 120-160ms ping with 100% regularity

It's the the backbone at the end that directs the traffic to their servers, IE; the ISP they pay for, no? It's a problem they had with early WoW, but back then they actively bitched about their bum deal with whatever ISP they had then and overloading due to unexpected growth until they were able to resolve it. (I did have like ... ~150ish ping on average back in vanilla now with modern WoW its 30-40)
Now they're just blaming users and their individual connections, well surprise, every single person I talk to actively on my list is having nightly issues. Luckily the game masks the lag in a pleasing enough way most of the time but lately I'm rubber banding more and more and it's really aggravating.

That debate is so last week, now we've moved onto playing the game.

I dont play much single player and I dont mind the online infrastructure, it's just never been something that has bothered me. This has been discussed into a fine powder, however.
I do however care when the latency won't go down! God damn lag and rubber banding and AH errors everywhere for me tonight. Fix this shit.
Yeah, usually it gives the money back in the completed tab, citing the error as the reason for a refund, but with all the lag I wouldn't be shocked if people are getting jipped.
go to your completed auctions you should be able to refund your money for me it did at least

Yes. Exit and re-enter the AH and look at the completed tab, your item or refund will be there.
Same thing just happened to me and no refund.
edit: seems like the essences I thought I didn't buy earlier went through as well and I haven't received them either.

Right here, the item says "purchased - buyout" too on my auction log. Right now I'm just playing my other char and wait to see if the issue is going to be resolved

I'm using Sparkflint Familiar because it give a bonus 12% damage for every attack (!), Magic Weapon with Bonus Damage & kickback, and Astral Presence.
So yea, a lot of bonus damage on top of all that offense. I'm 1-shotting just about everything.
And with the Celestial Orb combining with my bonus Arcane damage....well...yea.

Aside from AH troubles I just finished Nightmare difficulty entirely as a lvl 51 Wizard.

Is there a good site that lists builds/equipment/locations for X stuff for D3? Whenever I try to google stuff I just get game guides stuff, generic D3 shit, or old D2 stuff.

Amusingly, I think the RMAH will actually make the process of getting loot more exciting. Everything is more exciting when there are dollars attached to it, even boring games like roulette.

Yup, apparently it gives you a giftable regular D3 code?
In the case of the Annual Pass, it gives you 4 months of WoW gametime instead towards your contract.
