Diablo IV |OT| Blessed Mother... Save Us

This build is sick. I didn't bother with Affliction after they introduced it in a PTR, it was godly, then they nerfed it on Season start. Looks like it got buffed?

 
Created a Rogue, leveled it using whisper caches from my Sorc. Death Trap is still great with not optimal gear for T2. Working on getting the glyphs and level them to around 25 now that I got the Eyes in the Dark.

Whackest live service game alive. Just kill it and give us updates for D2 instead.

I like this one. More fun than any other event they came up with.

They miss too many opportunities to make great content. That last part of the season quest, where we go get horadrim treasures, could have been something that transported the player to fight those fights again, relive the events. In the end maybe it's a complete lack of love for the game, or lack of will to fund such content that blocks it. They are on cruise control.
I have a soft spot for the franchise since the first one released, and will buy Diablo V unless it's a mobile game or microtransaction fest, but I am not really sure it will even get released.

Yeah it does seem a little low effort, unfortunately.

  • We've done a significant re-work of Infernal Offerings revealed between each Wave. Our goal is to try to make all offerings feel valid as choices for you as you start to stack them to focus on your run.
  • We're doing this by balancing existing offerings, changing the effects of some offerings, and adjusting base Monster populations.
  • At the start of the Infernal Hordes, you'll now start with an Infernal Offering to immediately stoke the embers and breathe some fire into your run.
 
Are we really not getting a new expansion this year?

I was really hoping a yearly expansion for me to at least come back through a story and new class.

Surely that immortal money can fund some D4 love?
 
Another season of "temporary powers" that aren't too different from the other "temporary powers" (or shrine powers) we've had before. Another season of increasing power creep and broken FOTM meta builds for each class.

Really not enthused by the idea of turning uniques into glorified RNG Aspects, which is what the Chaos gear does. It diminishes the entire purpose of having uniques and the give-and-take nature of choosing whether or not to use one over an imprinted aspect in that gear slot. Hell, if anything, build-defining uniques should be a bit harder to get, not easier. I had barely hit 60 and gotten into Torment 1 when the RNG gods granted my S9 Sorc a 2GA Ophidian Iris on my second Duriel farm where Belial randomly appeared.

Still waiting for a meaningful end game that isn't just "grind this rep to rank 18 to get a resplendent spark". I really got back into playing this season (nothing else to do at the moment) and in a month's time I had three classes to rank 18 (Sorc, Spirit, Barb), all three farming T4 with ease but with no real reason to keep going. I could keep grinding for 3GA items and hammering for perfect masterwork rolls but… why? I already decimate everything in the game and the reward for pushing Pit levels isn't really worth the time.

I'm casually working on a new Necro here and there but I'm pretty much done with everything this season has to offer, and S10 looks like more of the same vapid stuff, made even easier with broken gear systems that will allow for insane setups with uniques no longer being a trade-off.

Here I go again writing more essays about how D4's design is flawed lol

I tried playing the add-on. It doesn't appeal to me at all. I don't think Blizzard can do much about it. The base structure just doesn't work.

Yeah. It's not perfect, but it's better than before. There aren't so many "you should pick this otherwise you're a dumbass" choices as before, and there is more variety, but not as much as I was hoping for. Some of the Chaos Hordes are fun but there are a couple of duds too.

The new powers are kind of interesting, but didn't blow me away. The Chaos Armor mechanic is also pretty cool. The fact that Chaos Armor is cool and swappable legendary aspects are meh is illuminating in terms of Diablo 4's design issues.

Before your character had to be within the circle for kills to count. Now, the requirement is that the monsters have to be killed in the circle for kills to count. It's annoying as fuck.

There is a boon that gets rid of this requirement, but it's still stupid.

If they watched POE2 stream yesterday they should simply be ashamed, what Blizz do in their content patches compared to GGG is nothing short of pathetic

Yeah, that is terrible. Spires are bad enough as it is.

Yeah, that's the most egregious change.

Thankfully other positives include - the bosses no longer have stupid annoying immunity phases. Huzzah.


I just tested Sorc. There's some wild stuff. Mana shield is stupid strong and can make you immortal pretty easily. Even though they nerfed hydra, it's still ridiculously strong.
 
Might have to go Druid using Shred(been fun in the PTR) in the new season to make up for PoE 2 not delivering a class. Of course, I will play both games like always. PoE 2 updates look amazing.
 
I'm going to have to retool Death Trap Rogue. Aftermath no longer completely refills the resource bar so it'll be harder to gear now
Imagine Death Trap on the goblins horde. Penetration Shot would also clear it quickly but in my experience with it, its gear needs are tough. Lots of masterwork hits needed. Or maybe I'm a bad player lol

The vacuum pull works well for that. It's actually pretty good for spires since I can suck mobs inside the spire. I'm probably going to have to rethink my season start plans though. Death Trap isn't as easy to gear anymore, so it's not an easymode way into T4 as it used to be. Maybe I'll do Sorc this time.

I have 5 of em I dont need but why do you even want em when the season is almost over anyway? No charge as I'm done for the season but I dont have a clue how the trading works.

Just to further enjoy this Lunging Strike build and see most of its potential. And that makes two of us, I've never traded before. It's the last remaining runes to craft a Ring of Starless Skies.
