+1. Takanori Arisawa, the legend behind the outstanding OST in the first 4 seasons passed away. That is crushing. I hope the animation and art is better than in hunters.

Tamers ended perfectly, so I'm pretty happy with them letting that sleeping dog lie. The movie set after the ending was dumb.
02 ended horribly, so naturally it's candidate number one for a follow-up. Wonder if Davis will show up.

Man I seriously hope that won't be a cash-in lame sequel but rather something that's worthy of Digimon Adventures, I hope!And dammit I just remembered that I never got to see the last episode of the first season because my older brother went all "Don't watch so much TV!" on me the day it aired...

We can even keep Ken and Daisuke's crew around for support. But they really need to go back and handle that OBVIOUS PLOT THREAD THAT WAS LEFT HANGING.
And since it seemed like "Diablomon Strikes Back" was already seemingly working towards retconning 02's Ending, maybe we can just continue on from there.

They made an English version of the trailers as well. Glad to see they are thinking about Digimon fans outside of Japan with this.

To be honest i never liked any of the seasons after Season one, especially when they started to transform into digimon in season 4.
This. I'd love a direct sequel to tamers the most.
I'm glad and surprised they'll be focusing on Tai again, but what was 02 then? As bad as that season was, I always liked TK and Kairi at the least. Curious how they'll go about this new one.

Season 3 is the best toy tie-in show ever. Like, by a fucking mile. 01 was a fun romp but Tamers is just... hnnnnnnnnnnnggggggg so good

Oh that's really sad. The OST for Digimon doesn't have any right to be as good as it is (the non-American version anyways).
Anyways, this announcement comes totally out of the left field. Like, I never even had the slightest hope that another Digimon Adventure featuring Tai and co. would ever be a thing.
Second time I watched this trailer I just got goosebumps ;P
Anyways, unfortunately one really has to lower ones expectations. I mean I hope for the best but it just seems so unlikely it's gonna be as good as I'd want it to be. I mean when they are already missing out on the composer... :/

Again, I'd like to think that they'll keep Daisuke and Ken's crew around for support. And since Takeru and Hikari get the benefit of having "dual membership" in the original and 02 crews, anyway, it just makes much more sense to have them around.
Besides, I'd rather them have the 02 bunch in the mix than to feel the need to add in more "new" Chosen Children/Digidestined.
No, that series will be the best ever, that teaser was awesome despite showing nothing new, I loved Digimon. Butterfly brings back all the memories.

Hmm now the only problem is that I'm so darn fond of the German dub that I'd actually like to watch this one in German as well but... as I'm no longer watching TV and streaming anime in Germany isn't really a thing it'll have to be Japanese.
Must imagine a lot of the German voice actors for the corresponding characters are no longer active in the voice acting industry anyways. I mean 15 years, jez.

I'm guessing Tai's back, old kids will show up here and there, but there will also be new kids, jumping off of the "everyone gets Digimon!" ending to 02.
Or alternatively, they back away from an ensemble show but have a lot of Digital World exploration. Easiest way to introduce new Digimon and new Digivolutions, show off their natural environment some more.
Plus Agumon never Armour-Digivolved, Bio-Digivolved, DNA Digivolved...

I am sure we will get the other megas. Few things can cause trouble to Omegamon, which is why I think there is a catch and they can't evolve normally. But that idea is pretty much Evil spirals from Season 2. I am banking on completely new evolution lines.
The OG cast are returning as leads, with Taichi at the helm once again. No doubt we will get cameos from 02 cast, and maybe even Akiyama Ryo.
While I don't know about cashing in, I will say I am also on the Eh fence.
I see this and then I go " thats not the 2nd or the 3rd one " I mean its neat. I will watch i guess.

Tai is 17 and going on Digimon Adventure again?
... I'm getting Persona 4-based theorizing in my head that it's gonna be about him S-Linking with the original Destined kids and meeting new folk to take on the new threat.
But most of all I just wanna see a story of Digimon based in a world with our current technological state and usages of social networks. That has GOTTA be a rich mine of story potential.
Edit: GODDAMMIT I DID IT AGAIN NOW NOBODY WILL SEE THIS POST
