Well they could still change the epilogue a little in regards to stuff like the careers people end up as. (it only said a 'clue' after all)

That said, I have a feeling it's not just the whole "Everyone gets digimon" thing they will tackle but that they will deal with the consequences of Earth learning about the Digital World and Digimon.

Even at the end of 02 (before the epilogue), they were just known as Monster attacks and Monsters appearing, no one apart from the Chosen Children (and the other children who have Digimon around the world) knew what they were.

This series might be exploring that, the consequences and the difficulties with dealing with that. Perhaps including how the political people (President/Prime Minster/etc of each country) deal with it since ya know, gotta take advantage of it before other countries do.

Just some speculation though but I think it makes sense.

But for now let's just see how it'll turn out. It's not like we could change something anyway.

Yep, by "canon" I was trying to say that we won't have a retcon.

Also, I hope by going "adult", they mean to tackle serious topics like death and sacrifice. I sincerely hope he is not talking about love triangles.

I have a feeling it will have romance.. not exactly love triangles but something like that since they are high school students now..

This style is definitely going to take some getting used to; Agumon looks way too cute lmao.

Well, when you stop and think about it, it does make sense. IIRC, most digimon of a "type" are largely identical. Why would Agumon get bigger just because Tai did?

It opens up the door for some interesting character stories, like the whole "growing out of our childhood friends" coming of age bit.

Debateable - it wasn't *that* bad, but i last watched it when I was like 10 . I know some people hate it with a passion. But this...this is looking to be bad on a new level if they don't fix this crappy art style. Hopefully they don't go batshit crazy with the story.

You should give it a rewatch and see if it still holds up to your memories of it.

As a kid I liked it well enough but had mixed feelings about the ending. Rewatching again and again over the years, I've grown to really hate it and all the story decisions and characterizations. And that fucking noodle cart.

Oh the ending was shit as a kid as well.I was referring to the majority of the season/story - although myotismon being the bad guy at the end wasn't that great tbh. I remember being annoyed for a long time at the ending. First of all they spent all of what 2-3mins for the epilogue. The designs of the older digidestined looked deformed. Digimon & humans living together , logisitics - how would this even work, lets not forget the random ass jobs they gave everyone ( Tai+agumon running a noodle cart - wth.Matt as an astronaut - were these even hinted. You get my point.) and lets not forget how Matt+Sora somehow end up together. This shit is making me angry. I actually watched season 01 over the summer in english and was surprised at how many jokes they made,ruining the moment(s). May watch 02 in japanese so it's not as bad.

It was bad compared to Adventure 1. The first season was a really smart show and had a solid ending. 02 had some good ideas but failed to bring anything exciting like the first season, and ended on a sour note.

Yep. Its best Digimon art style ever imo, but too expensive I bet.

I am kinda worried with the direction they are taking with this. I hope the Digimon will be represented well in this season. We need that Wargreymon action.

I would totally down for them if they're dead set against Tai/Sora. It just sucks because Sora/Matt is soooo boring.

Why would you say they are boring? They had no character development for their relationship yet. We don't know if them as a couple are boring or not really because there has been nothing apart from the whole Sora bringing him cookies in that one episode.

They should be a couple in Tri if it follows on from 02 so we'll see if they are a 'boring' pairing or not in the new series. (unless they temp break up until the last episode because the writers doesn't want romance at all in this series lol)

Depends on if they do anything that contradicts/retcons the epilogue in the series. It could be easy enough to make the series be set between 02 and the 02 epilogue while keeping things that happen in the epilogue canon.

So we'll see what happens. You never know, it could still be canon or maybe there will be a new epilogue at the end of this series.

They were together in the second movie( I don't know which number it was in japan) and they were ZZZZZZZZ worthy. More interesting Sora/Tai moments in the movie too.

If they're doing more to connect human world to real then it's probably canon.
