Am I the only one who wants it to just be 13-20 episodes? I don't want any filler and 13 ep seasons are perfect.

You're almost certainly in the minority when it comes to Digimon fans.

For me, longer season = multiple arcs, more character development for everyone (8+ main characters after all), etc.

And when compared to other comparable long running animes, I'd argue that Digimon (at least Adventure/Zero Two) have less filler than others. Many episodes add something to the show (from new digivolutions to character development).

Of course we can't say much about this season til it airs in terms of filler anyway. We still don't even know what the story will be about. :/

Damn it, can April get here quicker please? :(

Honestly when it comes to Tamers at least... It was 50 or so episodes but I can't remember much filler. Typically everything was important.

I haven't watched Tamers in so long. Want to watch the eng dub and then the JP when I can. (and Show my fiancee it since she hasn't even seen the eng dub :P outside of 1 or 2 episodes :P)

JP op song is cool though.

Well Digimon Adventure Tri is certainly catching peoples attention. It will surely be one of the more popular shows this year.

I have to wonder, who will get it, Funimation, Crunchyroll (my preferred one), Daisuke or something else entirely. Or none but I can't imagine that when they take the time to put some english stuff onto the website

Wait Denpa Kyoushi is also getting an Anime?
Woah, this is it. The year, where i seriously start to watch Anime.

Also: Still no News about when this will air? All we know is Spring 2015, wouldn't hurt to know a Month

Not sure about the JP version, but all of Tamers is on Netflix.

April most likely, most Digimon series that are scheduled for Spring air in April. Only one exception and that was the original:

March 7th: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digimon_Adventure

April 2nd: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digimon_Adventure_02

April 1st: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digimon_Tamers

April 7th: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Digimon_Frontier_episodes

April 2nd: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digimon_Data_Squad

Only other exception is Fusion which started in Summer:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digimon_Fusion

Original run: July 6, 2010 – March 25, 2012

But that was rather unique due to Hunters extending it to 79 episodes.

Not sure about the JP version, but all of Tamers is on Netflix.

Yeah I know, saw it while watching Digimon Adventure Zero Two. Fun fact: Zero Two episode 50 had a promo for Ep 1 of Tamers at the end of it.

Which Netflix? I can't see it.

I need me some Tamers.

US, Use Hola (extension) with Chrome to access it. I use it and it works great mostly (sometimes the page resets/reloads but apart from that it's fine).

The weird thing about Digimon is that a lot of the "filler" episodes are the ones with a new evolution in them, so it keeps it interesting. As long as they put focus on every character (and have new evolutions?), there should be enough material for 50 something episodes.

That being said, I don't want a repeat of the second half of 02, so if necessary I'd rather have it trimmed down.

In other news, that Metalgarurumon figure is up for preorder on Amazon now. It makes me want them to make figures of the other final evolutions. HeraklesKabuterimon and Vikemon would be awesome.

Thanks for the Info! :)

I think Tai in the poster looks better. His neck seems... pretty long here. I dunno; maybe I'm just too used to the old art style. I wish they'd kept it.
Really? I find he looks bad in the poster but in the shot with Augomon he looks way better and more Tai like.

The first 10 or so episodes are usually for establishing the characters with a Digimon evolution for their partners. Typically, you would get one episode for 1 character and their digimon.

Its a different case for Tri as we know all the characters already and their Digimon evolutions. Its interesting what route they take with the first couple of episodes.

dear god, if crunchyroll gets it, I'll be so happy. So much nostalgia behind the first two original seasons......so pumped for this!

They might give them new evolutions, like the
super ugly
ones Tailmon and Patamon got in 02. The digidestined no longer have their crests and I think someone said in this thread that Tri starts with Taichi's digivice getting stolen which opens the way for new digivices and new evolution methods.

I am confident they will get evolutions, its they way that they set it up that will be crucial imo. I am not too fond of the rumored start to the series where Taichi's device get stolen. I am also wondering about tie-ins to the first and second series. Egg-evolutions are cool if there are not done in the way like in 02. Also most those evolution are weaker than adult evolutions, so there is a problem there.

There are too many questions and no answers from Toei

Digivice gets stolen by Demidevimon/Picodevimon.

It all makes sense now! The next eggs will hatch and be a picture of the Digivice being stolen!

Am I the only one who wants it to just be 13-20 episodes? I don't want any filler and 13 ep seasons are perfect.

Considering that, at least for the first four seasons, the average episode count for each season was around 50 episodes, going down to 13 feels like it would be cutting it short unless it was like Digimon Fusion where it's one big sub-series with multiple seasons.

A "trilogy" of 13-episode seasons might work, but would still only be 39 episodes. Digimon Adventure didn't have THAT much filler either, so the way I see it, another 50 episode season would probaly work out.

Of course, if they can do in 13 episodes what they did with Adventure in 50ish episodes, then it might still be "meaty".

If I had the money, I'd buy all the things they keep retweeting. the Our War Game badges, the chibi ones, etc. :(

I have the BD on pre-order while I decide if I want to spend the money on it, the picture of the contents doesn't make it any easier. (the special drama CD has an egg on it and the other discs have the Digimon eyes I think). Looks so good.

And back in nade nade land... just another 676000+ left. :/

Geeze both the movie and Adventure box look amazing in their design... Scrolling down, those plush look great too! Digimon retro plush are hard to find AND pricey. Might snag a Tailmon and Gabumon at some point :)

Someone also brought up before about Hikari being next to Tai on the BD Box. It seems like in all promotional material now she is next to Tai instead of being behind everyone like in non-15th anniversary stuff.

Also Taichi and Yamato's GEM figures are being re-released in late Feb (according to amiami - also the same time Hikari/Takeru's ones are out) which I'm going to guess is more promotional stuff for both the BD (which is out the 3rd of March I believe) and for Tri which I'm saying it in April unless we find out otherwise lol.

I would love if she takes Yamato's spot as second in command.

Ehhh I love Kari but I've always felt she is better partnered up with TK, not Tai. If we were to get a second in command that replaces Matt, I would hope for Mimi or Sora since a better female presence would be great.

That was debunked. The rumor also said that the title would be Digimon Adventure -00-

Oh have to double-post for Metalgarurumon SH Figurarts for pre-order!

Surprised it's still available. Roughly $63 USD, with the original still going for over $200 on eBay! Also a Japanese store exclusive too, mind you.

Good news. It's getting a US release.

I would love that as well. But Hikari would have to get over her personal issues that led to her brother complex and being Dark Ocean bait in the first place.

So all the more reason for this to happen!

Sora actually was implied to be the second in command in the Adventure novelization, but then again she also got a major characterization overhaul there so...

Bumping this because Joshua Seth voiced an episode of Did you know anime for their digimon themed episode

Digimon - Did You Know Anime? Feat. Joshua Seth (…: http://youtu.be/8C6VYxIhqcQ

I am beyond happy that Joshua Seth confirms at the end of this video that he is willing to reprise the role of Tai and also do more conventions, if asked. I hope that whoever casts the english dub is aware of this.

Yeah, for those interested, Metalgarurumon is up for preorder on Amazon for $48.99.

It says it's releasing on my birthday... ugh.

Well, hopefully I can cancel my BiJ order >_> Unlike AmiAmi sounds like it's possible for them to do it, but only sometimes.

Hope you can get a refund. Pre-orders should always be able to be canceled, imo. Though I've never ordered something from overseas, so that might have something to do with it.

Yeah, over at FigureGAF, I've heard talks on how someone bought too much and cancelled a few, hoping they wouldn't get blacklisted >_> Figures are usually a strict pre-order only business it feels like, give or take a few extras for the more popular ones. Once it's gone, it's gone for good unless they decide to do a reprint, sort of like how the Toon Link Nendo is getting one, after being extremely popular and sold out for a bit.

Hmmm, I'll keep that in mind for future reference. Being a collector of Japanese figures must be rough.

I'm an on/off figure collector, depending. Been staying away from things like Nendos and such due to the price, but man when you get them, they are so amazing and sooooo worth it!

The GEM Digimon figures are so amazing, too. I really really hope they do at least a Ken and Daisuke... The D-Art/SH Figurarts are something I definitely want to invest in, at some point. I went for Metalgarurumon due to his current price on the old model >_> Yeesh.

Yeah it's not easy being a Japanese figure collector. You need to be on top (and that's where FigureGAF browsing has helped :p), especially since they can sell out so freakin fast... the Mimi and Koushirou GEMs were barely up for 2 days when they sold out.

Funnily enough, that's why I was going to say it's better for her not to be partnered with Tai in that sense. She'd end up being a pretty bad second in command if she can't get over her dependence on Tai.

But you do bring up a good point as well, it'd be some good character Development.

edit: also was that rumour debunked? Never saw someone debunk it yet, infact I see people use it like it's still the most probable rumour.

In my mind, Taichi and Hikari were the original chosen kids, with the others being included because they witnessed the event. So it makes sense in my mind that both will have to play the biggest roles. And like Random One said, it could be a good opportunity to further develop Hikari. I hated how she was downplayed hard in 02.

I find that the best Digimon episodes in the first and second series are ones that typically focused on both of them.

Hikari could have had a nice storyline in S2 with the Dark Ocean stuff. Hell they more or less just dropped the whole dependance on Taichi thing after the episode finished.

Hikari and Takeru are two of my fave characters and while I like 02, I feel like both got screwed over somewhat, Hikari with the first example above and Takeru with his whole hate evil thing which ends in the DNA/Jogress evo between Cody and Takeru's Digimon.

At least Miyako/Hikari and Daisuke/Ken had a moment where their evos happened somewhat naturally. for Cody and Takeru, it was just like "that's it, let's get it over with" and they evolved. So anti-climatic after everything.

Oh and on a Hikari note, I was kinda surprised they didn't use her being sick at all like they did in Adventure. Not sure what they could do with it but it was just a thought when reflecting on 02. (in Adventure, it was some interesting character development for Taichi/Hikari when we found out what happened during the Machinedramon city stuff).

(I used Cody here because I'm not used to using his Japanese name even though I use the others JP names >_>)

edit: Ya know, in terms of character rankings for me, It's hard what I'd put until Tri. I mean 02 had the original 6 of the original 8 get shafted almost completely. :/

Hikari
Takeru
Taichi
Ken
Joe

And after that I don't know. I like a lot of characters equally. :/

Tbh, they should have expected the fan disappointment with 02. They build fantastic characters in Adventure that got pushed aside for three characters that got handed everything on a silver platter. Most of the exciting aspects of 02 either involved Ken, or the older cast.

But what they did with Hikari and Takeru was even mind boggling. These 2 should have been the main characters. Takeru especially, who as been there since the start. Think about that. Takeru and Patamon were featured in nearly 100 episodes in total, and have not reached their ultimate version. That is sad.

Tamers was a heck of a comeback. It is indeed the DMC3 of the Digimon franchise.
That being said, I don't hate 02. Its simply inferior to other series.

Funnily enough I just brought up the whole characters get shafted thing in my edit above. I don't even have anything against the new characters, I just have a grudge against how older characters got treated.

Also Takeru should have been leader with Hikari second in command. Like you said, he's been in it since the beginning and Hikari was in it for the majority of the hardest fights near the end of the series where they didn't get much of a chance to rest (compared to Devimon/Etemon arcs).

But nope, instead guy who had goggles (before he was chosen) got given Taichis googles and is the 'leader'.

But Ken is my fave of the new guys, I like the others somewhat but Ken has enough character development and growth that made me like him a lot more. Though the whole Ryo stuff which got the dark spore put into Ken was stupid because it wasn't even explained that well in the anime. Like who put the spore in, what happened in the digital world, etc.

Can't even say play the games because they contradict bits of the anime so it's not really a suitable explanation for it all.

I do agree 02 is inferior to a few of the other series. Hope the characters are treated better in Tri but I think regardless, I'll like the series just cause of the characters >.> but I still hope they get treated better.

So... do you guys think they have a proper website ready to go (you know, with airing information, information on how you can pre-order Volume 1 of Digimon Tri, etc) or are they making sure they tease us longer so they can put together their animes website.

Well... you never know. :P

I'd be surprised if they even have storyboards done for the first episode at this point. :P

Yeah, so much revolved around Tai and Kari. Also, I agree it sucked how much she was downplayed in 02. Hope she's treated better this time.

Late season Matt is intolerable. His whining at the beginning was understandable when Tai was more reckless, at the end it just comes off as annoying.

Agreed, I remember getting more and more annoyed by him. Yet another reason the random 02 Matt/Sora was annoying, after all the way better Tai/Sora interactions.

Also on 02, I agree with Stuart444, I enjoyed Ken's arc so he was the best of the new characters, all that focus on him was pretty cool atleast thanks to the character development. That ep with him recovering, as someone mentioned earlier, was great too.

Puberty was good to him. Now time to right the wrongs of 02.

Tai/Sora 4 life.

Yeah.

I am beyond happy that Joshua Seth confirms at the end of this video that he is willing to reprise the role of Tai and also do more conventions, if asked. I hope that whoever casts the english dub is aware of this.

That would be amazing. I'd be happy if this was something he'd come back for.
