Wasn't Tri supposed to release Spring 2015? How's that looking? We haven't gotten so much as a full cast poster, let alone a feature-length trailer.

How do you guys think they'll implement new threats? The team's already highly experienced with two Megas and six Ultimates, they can't go the usual route building up their Digivolution lines with small fry. I'm hoping they'll throw in some genuinely strong opponents as the team's first enemies, like the Olympus Twelve or the Demon Lords, albeit the latter's been overdone to hell now.

Please, Toei, put in Millenniumon. He's the most interesting antagonist of any Digimon media.

Rookie = Child
Champion = Adult
Ultimate = Perfect
???????? = Super Ultimate

I'm guessing the last one would be Super Mega...or something. The Japanese names for the Digivolution stages have a more biological feel to them.

Just regular mega.

And the Japanese stages are, and will remain, worse because of calling the third stage "perfect" (though ultimate isn't much better, admittedly).

I wouldn't add it to your watch list for this season if that's what you're asking.

Also, if this is just a repeat of what happened with Crystal (and it's looking very dodgy right now) I'm not even going to stick around and watch the building fall over.

It's worth remembering that originally Perfect was the highest stage, and Ultimate was only added later. Perfect represents the highest stage most Digimon will reach, with Ultimate generally requiring something exceptional. This is reflected in Adventure by the fact that Taichi and Yamato need their hearts to be pierced by arrows in order for Agumon and Gabumon to warp evolve. Savers also displays this. They say "DigiSoul Full Charge" when evolving to Perfect, and "DigiSoul Charge Overdrive" when evolving to Ultimate.

1. Digimon has always always been about the Merch. That's why I'm 100% confident we'll get different Digivices in the show. The anniversary thing just means they can focus on rehashed Merch before the show even begins.

2. Sailor Moon Crystal isn't a good comparison if you look back at the cluster fuck it was before the show started to air. (and that's not counting the whole "not airing on TV/one ep every 2 weeks" thing)

Delayed for a year, hardly any info.We know more about Tri than we did about Crystal when it was supposed to originally air.

That, plus the other characters done by this artist usually exhibit no to very little emotion. His animes are like filled with robot clone characters.

Here's hoping Digimon is different.

If you look at the faces, they're pretty similar, Kari and Sora have the same exact face and Tk & Matt are pretty similar ( although they're brothers so it kinda makes sense i guess but they didn't look that similar in s01+s02.) and the rest also have similar faces compared s01+02 it just seems lazy and uninspired.

ah, I suspected as much. but the thing is... this isn't really a problem exclusive to digimon. it's a thing of all anime, let alone cartoons, ain't it?

A lot of cartoons also have the "same face" problems. It is tough to one artist come up with very different faces, you need to be very skilled and takes a lot more time to do it.
 
My favourites from that:

Kari's ones (all 3 of them :P ), Takeru's peace one that looks straight out of the JP ED 1.. Mimi's Onegai <3. Matts ones (all of them again), Izzy's (all of them).

Sad thing is I can totally call where most of those are in series (Tai's second one is an inbetween shot from when he falls backwards from Koromon in ep 1)
 
I had another Digimon-related dream last night. I feel like my dreams are a better predictor for the show than nade-nade at this point :/
 
I was listening to the Dialomon OST earlier on Youtube and came across a Digimon Movie compilation CD from 2014. It had a slow version of Stand by Me, so I wonder if it's a new version recorded last year? I've never heard it before and love the original!

Yeah, it was a new version recorded for the compilation CD. There a few new versions performed by AiM for that release.
