After watching The Digimon Adventure and Our War Game recently, god was Digimon The movie awful.
I can't believe I ever enjoyed that version. :/

The Digimon Movie pales in comparison to the three movies by themselves, imo. The only portion that holds up is Our War Game, and that's probably because it's the one kept most intact.

The description for Mervamon in Digimon lore is that its an older and more mature Minervamon.
The third movie got the worst treatment IMO.

It's just amazing that back then, you really had no idea this was the case. I'll still look back at the movie fondly, but man they did one hell of a job on it bringing it over.

It was pretty widely known online even at the time (well, at least in the context of online Digimon discussion). I certainly remember being aware of it even when the movie first opened in the US.
But it was probably a couple more years before I could actually watch the Japanese versions of the movies. So I knew what was cut from movie 3, but it took longer to get to actually see it.

Still haven't seen that Digimentals movie, I need to get around to watching it to see how badly it was ruined.
For people asking about the level of fanservice in classic Digimon, remember Lady Devimon was in Adventure 01 and her design left little to the imagination.
Even though she was mostly covered.

I love Metal Greymon but Rize slightly edges out due me remembering him yelling out "Trident Revolver!!!" from Digimon savers.
Yeah, Digimon savers was good and introduce one of the best human villain ever. My only complaint that they went with Shine Greymon over Victory Greymon
Sweet, I was pushing the petition hard over my twitter feed but I am glad to hear that it wasn't for naught.
Buying the game will be my reward.
Heck in the dub of Savers Rosemon was censored by having her boobs covered, though they weren't consistent with it.

The first part, Digimon Adventure, wouldn't have been so bad if Kari stopped talking, not sure why they felt that she needed to talk all the time when she and Agumon went outside.
Our War Game, like you said is the best of the lot and the changes they made weren't that big. Still prefer the Japanese version as the appeared of Omegamon is far superior in the Japanese version.
The last part, Digimon Hurricane Landing!!, was a mess both in the Dub and in the Japanese version.

What would one say is the average runtime for this game (Main Story)?
Friends have told me it takes 60ish hours. If you start grinding to level out the tooooooooons of digimon you can get, it will go up above 100+ hrs. Really nice length.

How many Digimon can you carry at a time?
11 I believe, remember from watching a video I counted 11. 3 battle ready, 8 on standby

Nice. Not sure what's going to be my full team but the Digimon lines I plan on having are:
2 PlatinumSukamon for leveling
Terriermon
Guilomon
Renamon
Gomamon
Agumon
Gabumon
Gaomon
2 other random Digimon I find that I like.
What's the connection between PlatinumSukamon and leveling? Do they multiply exp or something like that?

Yes. I haven't played the game yet but I've read reactions in this thread and the Digimon OT Community thread.
Yup, its passive skill is gain 100% more experience after battle, you can also equip tactician usb(you can get some from late game drops/quests) onto your digimons for more experience. The problem with PlatinumSukamon is that its experience gaining skill only activates when it's active in battle so having 2 might be counter productive.
I usually just equipped 1 PlatinumSukamon with 3 tactician usb to stack the experience gain. Friendship with Digimon can only be increase in battle if they are active as well so you are wasting the amount of friendship you can gain by having 2 PlatinumSukamon taking up the slots. Friendship can be easily gain with food in Digimon farm but they are pretty costly.You also have to consider also other passive skills like increase item drop rates and money gain after battles and you only have 3 active battle slots.
My personal team is Lilithmon(high damage skill that multiply magic damage by 3, very broken), UlforceVeedramon(team will always have the first turn regardless of speed) and Belphemon SM( sleep mode is kawaii as fuck).
I unlocked every digimons and have 20 or so digimons at level 99 multiple of times within 60 hours. I also completed all the side quests and stuff without the dlc. DLC quests might add another 5-6 hours more. If you want to collect all the digimon medals(kinda pointless but they look nice), it might take upward to 130+ hours? The green pin(infinite and optional) quests to collect these medals are kinda tedious and not fun.

That makes me think you're just a Digimon expert! Haha, that sounds like a lot done in a decent amount of time. I wasn't even aware there were DLC quests. Have those been announced for NA already? Good chance they're coming over?

yeah I wouldn't expect too much. Their twitter has been mentioning it every now and then but Naruto 4 is also coming out next week.

They do indeed. Make sure you grab a couple of those early on. They make your life much easier seeing as evolving/de-evolving is a huge part of the game and the key way to get some of the more powerful Digimon.
